Challenging but great course! Look forward to coming back!
Beautiful course but really slow play
The course itself is really good, lots of different yardage’s, elevation changes, and beautiful scenery. A few holes have greens that are either diseased or someone spilled fertilizer on them.
The golf staff was really friendly.
Unfortunately we must have caught the tail end of a tournament. We played the first 6 holes in about 1 hour and the final 12 in almost 5 hours. Slowest golfers I’ve ever seen. Like the old saying goes, “ it’s ok to be a bad golfer, just don’t play slow”.
We will definitely come back but will call first to make sure there isn't a tourney that day.
A+++ service
Tried to get us out early, but a member group started late. Common sense says to get the groups out early if possible to allow walkons later in the day.

Maintenance
Fairway grass not cut, 1st cut was at least 5inches and lots of dead grass from previous cutting. Impossible to find golf ball on 7 different holes. A waste of time and money.
Great Mountain Course
It is always a treat to get away and play any course up in the foothills. Auburn Valley is fun, challenging and memorable. Many courses feel like the same holes over and over. Auburn Valley is unique with water, sand, hills and trees. Great views and a lot of nice risk/reward golf. Highly recommended.
Spectacular Foothill Views
Auburn Valley has always been a top favorite. The layout is great and the foothills views are really awesome. The greens provide a good challenge and test the golfers' abilities.
Play day between rain days
Played on a sunny (but cool) day between rain days. Cart-path only for riders. Front nine was really quite good with respect to water on the course; the back nine was often a muddy walk to your ball. But...few players so pace was great.

It's bee a while since I played AV and the course has defiantly gone down hill. Then I found out that the course has been sold it all made scene. Enjoyed the company and the day, but a 5 hr. round doesn't cut it on a Wed. No course marshal to move things along. Will not be coming back any time soon
Beautiful scenery
The greens are really fast and the fairways were really wet in certain areas. We had a great day, however the greens were very difficult to play. Scenery was awesome!
Yes the greens were very fast this Dec with all the fry weather. Please remember to hit a lot of warm-up putts before you play to get a good feel.! Thanks for playing.
hidden gem
Great track. For some reason the back nine seems to always get slow. Other then that the course is fun to play. Beautiful and kept perfect by the grounds crew.

Beautiful course
Fairways are a bit sketchy. Greens very good. Staff friendly. Beautiful views and good value. Muddy in places- not a great placr after a rain.
Thanks for the kind words! We are working on our course drainage for the winter as I type! Jay Colvin our Course Superintendent has been working on helping the fairways breathe better and increased drainage of water!

Course needs work
Mud everywhere, even though rainfall for this time of year is below normal. Ball plugged on almost every tee shot. Mud balls galore. Tee box and fairway conditions vary from poor to fair. Very inconsistent speeds from green to green.
Thanks for the review! Unfortunately we did receive almost 9" of rain in Auburn for November. The course is now dry and firm. We also are working on a drainage plan for the fairways this winter. Expect improved conditions if we do get some rain in Jan or Feb!!
