Cheraw State Park Golf Course

First time playing and my wife and I were very impressed with all aspects of the course. Beautiful course with ample wide fairways. The course was cut within Georgia State Park System and adjacent to Lake Jupiter. Staff was very friendly and the price was right. We will be back.

Enjoyed golfing Cheraw yesterday. Played again today with spouse. Great greens, was nice day until on hole 12 when a twosome passed a threesome in back of us, then hit a ball that landed next to me. The player said it was intentional because we did not hit our balls quick enough which in fact would have been into the foursome in front of me. This twosome ruined our day with continuous insults, physical threats, all intended to pass us and everyone in front of them. We let them pass, we wanted to play golf not get in a fight. There were no open holes or gaps. They park right next to the tee boxes not on the golf cart path... I reported them at the end of the round, and learned they also hit into another group in front of us to intimidate them and pass. If this happens to you at Cheraw Golf Course, call the club house and report them. That was my mistake. This is a SC State Park, and I was informed such behavior will result in removal from the State Park.

My wife and I stop at Cheraw Golf Course while traveling to and from Florida. The greens were excellent, fairways good on front, and better on the back 9 for just coming off winter. Sand traps have some rocks and a few tee boxes on front 9 a little worn down. Driving range, best i have ever seen. All great for 12 months of play. I understand the traps and tee boxes are scheduled for upgrading this year. We played 27 holes in under 6 hours with minor delays including stopping at the pro shop to pay for an extra 9 holes, etc. The course scorecard recommends completing your round within 4 1/2 hours. Writing a separate review for our second day at Cheraw.

I always love the course but is long for us senior golfers. Only bad thing is that the grass in the fairways hadn't come in enough yet, the greens had recently been punched and still had a little wobble to them. I still enjoy the course

Normally, I really enjoy playing this case. However, this round had problems. I left the course after hole #3 due to the pace of play. 55 minutes for the first three holes. Additionally, they had a course wide problem with smoke which was thick.

Course layout and facilities are very nice and a bargain.for some reason I’m 10 strokes better on the front 9 then the back 9.

Very good layout, very good condition for mid March. Looking forward to returning when everything greens up. Staff was very good and professional.

tranquil setting, friendly staff, and on the course, although not in season, was in excellent shape, including greens rolling true. Cannot wait for the course to green up. Nice layout, no houses just beautiful State forest. Highly recommend this course but very soft fairways after a rain.

A very nice course. Not a hard or difficult course but your score card might say otherwise, enjoy.

Cheraw is a great golf course. We love to go play there every chance we get. It is always in great shape and the staff are always very friendly. Highly recommend.

Love playing Cheraw State Park, it’s the best public course in the Peedee!
