Good Course, not worth $60 though
I played this course two times while with my family on vacation in OBX. I would not pay full price to play it. It is not worth $60+ to play, IMO. I was able to get 2 people reduced prices and have the other 2 in my group pay full price, making it $45 a person. I would try not to pay more than that. It is a well kept course whose main focus is their well kept greens. Otherwise, it is an average course. I did like that it was off the island, making it a BIT less windy than Nags Head GL or Seascape GC. It is relatively open, and not nearly as tight as the previous two mentioned. I also enjoyed their sister course, The Carolina Club, as well, but it was very windy during both rounds.
nice ciurse
Nice golf course for early spring, Greens recently aerated and still quite sandy.Good value for the price ,but sandy greens do affect your putting<
Get the rust off
A very forgiving course. Well maintained. A good course that will not beat you up when trying to get back in the swing.
Great greens
Even in the dead of winter, the greens on this course are excellent. The course was very wet from recent rain so it was cart path only with the carts, but we still finished in under 4 hours on a Sunday morning. You can't beat that. The course is not overly demanding, but it's a lot of fun to play.
great value!
The dormant fairway grass played very much like summer grass.
Greens are exceptional; green, firm, fast. We played in a strong wind most of the day, but were able to play pretty well because of the course conditions.
Great Day!
A great value!
The dormant fairway grass played very much like summer grass.
Greens were in great condition, green, firm, fast. A lot of fun.
We played in very windy weather, but could still play pretty well because of the course conditions.
Great course, everything as advertised
This course lived up to all expectations. Great layout with challenging holes but also fairly forgiving.
Great Condition
Great conditions from Tee to Green... I played Seascape the day before however the Pointe is was a much better experience, one of the best playability courses around the area and the entire staff was super friendly, informative and welcoming...
Course was in great shape and the weather was perfect.
Course was in great shape. Crowded, but we moved along nicely. One of y favorite courses..
Great course, excellent greens
Fair course that won't pound your head in. Excellent greens and great lay out.
A beautiful and forgiving course.
This staff was very helpful and offered tips about the course. The course was well-maintained and very enjoyable to play. There's not much topographical variation, however, and the course is pretty forgiving of missed fairways. As a single, I played with three members who were very amiable and great to play with, and who offered tips when needed.
Nice well maintained open course.
This course was fun for me to play. It has very well groomed fairways. The greens had been aerated and still a bit bumpy but this is part of seasonal maintenance. Close off fairway is not very
"rough" .
Some interesting features. Water on some holes and pretty flat overall. Fairly wide open. Some doglegs. Friendly staff, nice carts.
Great OBX vacation course
The starter was great...he insured the round keep pace and got our 2 some moved ahead of a slow 4 some. He was a visible pretense during the round. Fairways are excellent...greens were punched and slow.
Always a favorite in the OBX
When visiting the OBX or surrounding areas, this is a must play for all level golfers. The fairways are always pristine, and the greens are amongst, if not the best around. We recently played The Pointe only a week after they had arraited the greens, and there was barely any sand, and all surfaces were smooth and almost 99% true.
The layout is favorable and the tees are accomodating for almost any skill level. We played the TIPS, and they were only 6400-6500 yards.
Enjoy and know that you are going to find one of the best "not so hidden" gems on the grand strand!
Easy to play course
This is a nice course in the Outer Banks, one that is great for beginners, as it has wide open fairways. Fairways are maintained very well, but the greens need some attention. Many divots that redirected several putts, which was annoying. Staff was very cordial in the beginning, however, we were the last group off the course at dusk and the guy who collected the carts- who was very nice when we got there- was apparently angry that he had to wait til 7:30 to leave work. Overall, a good experience and I would highly recommend this course
wide open
On vacation in the outer banks decided to try an inland course. I liked the fact that they had various areas to loosen up. Driving range, 2 putting greens, and an area for working on your bunker game. I arrived early so I could do just that. After warming up went to the bar and had a cold beer. Still had a half hour before my tee time. The course starter allowed me to go out as a single earlier. The course was wide open not only in shot selection... but also in play...it was midweek at 330pm but it moved fast. The course was very manageable with little to punish you for errant shots. I would recommend this course to friends and look forward to returning next year.
Great course. A novice felt like a pro today!!
Staff was very accomodating!! Thanx Guys!!
The course is very forgiving if you can stay out of the "stubborn bushes".
Loved it, and will return even if I have to pay full price.
nice resort course
course in very good condition - greens very nice, except for quite a few ball marks
relatively open but still challenging
very nice fairways
very friendly staff
very playable
Very friendly staff. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was good.Wide fairways make it very playable yet some well placed bunkers keep it challenging.
