Greenwood Country Club

Beautiful afternoon on the course. Great greens and really fast. Nice carts and friendly folks. Made it easy to keep our social distance.

Greens were in perfect condition. Fairways haven’t filled in yet but are always in great condition once hot weather arrives. Always enjoy playing this course, but was told they won’t allow walking unless you’re a member. Really? It’s perfect weather for walking!! I was allowed to walk but only because of the Coronavirus/Social distancing thing. We should be encouraging walking and exercise, not prohibiting it.

Course in great condition. Greens in great condition. I travel over an hour to play and will play again

The course is in very good condition. Fairways are well kept. Tee boxes are nice. Greens are in great condition, but slow. Overall, this course was an unexpected surprise because of how nice it was! My only complaint is there was zero food or beverage service because it was a Monday. The pro shop and bag drop are located on one side of the road. You actually drive through a tunnel to the other side of the street and this is where #1/#10/#4 tee boxes meet around the “Turn House” unfortunately the Turn House is closed Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The rest it’s open 10-4 with a very limited menu and I saw no beer for sale. Would definitely play again just more prepared with food and beverage.

Fourth time playing this course and as usual the course was in great condition and the staff as always were friendly. The members are very friendly as as my group was finishing their members were heading out to start their weekly dogfight. As they passed by everyone of them said hello.

Apparently the management of this course and golf now are feuding. So we made a reservation through golf now and as soon as we pulled up The staff member who was out setting up carts got on to us about the fact that our tee time had already been sold and that they might be able to get us out. Told us that GolfNow can't see their t-shirts and that even though we had made a reservation through golf now it didn't really exist. It was a little bit confrontational. Of course we were taken by surprise and not sure what he was talking about because it was our first time at this course. He ended up getting us on the course but it was unpleasant to have to deal with The feud between the management and golf now being the customer. It was very unprofessionally done. The course was in great shape. It was very fun layout speed of play was fantastic I do plan on playing there again.

Recently played here for 2nd time in 2 weeks. The course is in absolutely phenomenal shape. From Tee to Green simply put.....plush!!!! Tee boxes level, fairways emerald green with definable cut lines separating rough, rough is uniform & punishes you for straying, sand traps all raked & fluffy, collars of greens with 2 levels of fringe, and green flawless & smooth. I have been blessed to play many fine courses on the Gulf coast of Florida during Winter months, and in my earlier years, some of the best known Country Clubs in the Chicago area.....this course stacks up to the best of them, without a doubt!!!

The gentleman in the clubhouse was friendly & helpful for checkin, and after our round he was shuffling carts, and offered me a ride to my car after returning my cart!!! Simply put, one of the most enjoyable rounds of my life. The only negative, if that, was the fact with assuming this track receives mainly "member play", a surprising number of unfilled fairway divots.....I went through 4 jugs of sand filling other's divots....shameful!!! A definite must play, challenging course from the whites. Course plays long, and the Par 3's are all long & strong!! The course Superintendent deserves a raise!!!

Course was in perfect condition, especially considering all the high temperatures. Fairways were soft and plush. Greens had no bare spots and were soft. Staff were very friendly

Well I've been out of town for a month and came back to this wonderful experience,

From the beginning,

the guys in the Pro Shop, the pro as well as the attendant were very professional and so cordial,

it was a pleasant welcome to the start of a great round,

the buffet in the restaurant was off the charts,

the nice people working in the kitchen and restaurant area were extremely accommodating,

as I made my way out onto the golf course,

everything was green and Lush,

considering we've had very hot high-90s temps for quite some time with little precipitation,

The conditions were quite impressive to say the least,

the Tee boxes were beautiful,

the fairways were fantastic, and the greens superlative,

I completed my round in 3 hours,

Honestly these type of conditions will ruin a golfer,

As you can play other courses and not play on these type of superb conditions,

some golf courses don't take things to that level, unfortunately,

credit is due to the greensman as well as the members to keep their Club in this type of supreme shape,

it requires effort on both parties to maintain these type of surroundings

I look forward to my next round at this beautiful George Cobb design,

thank you Greenwood Country Club for an ultimate golfing experience,

my only regret is five-stars is the highest rating allowed.
