About
Architect Dennis Griffiths designed this track as a finesse course. He did not produce the typical beach layout when he created this 18-hole design, built in 1988. It has narrow bermudagrass fairways and large bentgrass greens and is bordered on the east by the Intracoastal Waterway.
Holes No. 1 through 15 are short, and the course lulls you up to this point. Then, the last three holes are uncharacteristically difficult.The course is mostly flat, with occasional uneven lies. Some tree-lined fairways have doglegs. The course is always fun to play and an especially fun round of golf for couples.

Ophelia residue
We played on Sat. am, 9:56, while hurricane Ophelia was leaving. The light rain stopped as we finished the 1st hole. Then it was just very windy with occasional drizzle. Despite that, we had a great time! The course is beautiful even under those circumstances. Everyone was so friendly & accommodating. Cannot wait to play under less challenging conditions. I can't believe I've been here 8 years & never thought I could play here. A good friend touted me on it 2 weeks prior & I am so grateful he did!

My favorite course in the area
I have played this course many times in different kinds of weather and have yet to be disappointed. You can use virtually every club in your bag and greens are always in excellent shape. I will be coming back frequently.

Grass long in rough
We played early, around 7:50. So a lot of wetness every where. Pace of play was really good. The rough is long. With the wet conditions, it made it difficult to find balls that were hit into the rough and difficult to hit out of the rough.

Nice course to play. Good condition for late summer. I play it at least once a year when in the Myrtle Beach area. Fair price.

More than a good value for the money
If anything, this course is under priced based on some of the other courses I've played that charge the same, if not more for far less than par course conditions. This course is VERY well kept.
Tee boxes: No issues (decent condition on majority of holes and no bad ones)
Fairways: Excellent condition on all holes. First cut is legit and the rough is what rough should be
Traps: They were in good condition but I didn't see any rakes?
Greens: Absolutely fantastic! By far the best greens I've play so far this season (I've played a few really nice courses, but they were a week out from being sanded and airrated)
Layout: Some nice easy straight away par 4s along with some challenging doglegs, par 3 over water and some tough par 5s with water on approach on several holes.
Pace of play: Have only played early am tee times, but the pacing is good. Had a wait here and there but eventually cleared up.
I'd recommend this course to ANYONE that wants a course with great grounds keeping for a really really good price

Labor Day golf
Went out at 7:45, morning dew slowed ball carry but greens were dry and fast.Play moved along nicely, no waiting whatsoever. It was our second time playing here but we’re Little River residents now and will play here often
