Poor layout and poorer conditions
One of the worst courses I've played in Myrtle Beach. The layout of the course was poor. Can't hit driver on most of the par 5s, there are trees in the middle of most fairways, and there is just as much sand on the greens as in the bunkers. Do yourself a favor and play another course.
Awsome!
Extremely nice golf venue. Shot a nice score, plenty of trouble to get in to. Greens are medium fast, played the day after a heavy rain. Some forced carries, plenty of sand, lots of water. Going to be one of my MB favorites. Staff was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating.
Good course in Myrtle Beach that won't bust your pocket
Played here on New Years and the weather wasn't the best I've ever seen but the course was great. It was about 58 degrees and there was lots of rain. The parking lot was not very busy but the course was filled with experienced and nice locals from Litchfeild Beach area. The plants and clubhouse where very nice with great staff friendlyness.
Like I said the weather wasn't exactly the best weather but it was ok and the course just nailed it. The drainage system was nice and esorbed all the water that was standing in the grass. The putting green was a little small but the driving range was nice and the Marshall at the first hole was really chill and didn't really care if we hit mulligans of one.
The course itself was in fantastic shape for the winter and really enjoyed the fact that the greens where running true and where fast. The course wasn't overly long and doesn't eat you alive, which gave me lots of birdie opertunities. This also gives the average 10 handicap a chance to break 85. There was a good amount of water and a lot of good holes on the course which I appreciated.
Overall I really enjoyed the course and would definitely recommend the course.
Great course for the money
Played this course as the first of 3 courses during our Pawley's Island golf trip. The course was in terrific shape. The greens were on the slower side because they had been over seeded but they rolled nicely. The staff was friendly. Great course if you are visiting the area.
Nice Layout
T-Storms in the forecast limited us to nine holes. Played the back nine. Course was in excellent shapes. T-Storms were in the vicinity when we made the turn so we decided to ask for a 9 hole rain check which the club gave to us without any hassle. Very accommodating staff. Can't wait to go back.
Great round of golf
Great round. Had not played there in about 10 years until this summer. Played with a friend and a local. The local gave great information about the course. Greens had a few rough spots but they kept pins away from those areas. course was in great shape. Huge fairway bunkers. Stay out of them.
Solid Track
The Tradition Club is an excellent course and was in very good condition. The tees, fairways, and greens were all very good. Greens were running at 10-10.5 on the stimp meter the day I played. I was paired up with another single. This is a solid test of golf on Pawleys Island and I highly recommend this course.
Good Course
Played this course as part of a Myrtle Beach package. This was the first time my group had played this course and we did not know what to expect. We were presently surprised at how well the course had held up to the amount of rain Myrtle Beach had the week we were there. The course is long and challenging from the back tees and has some difficult holes with lots of sand along with some easier scoring holes. The course has generous fairways that were nicely maintained and greens that are tricky but fair... Only real concern was the August green maintenance for plugging (couldn't be helped as we know) and the fact that they started us on that back...The back is a nice side but the front is by far the tougher side and after playing in 94 degree heat it would have been nice to play the finishing holes arguably toughest 3 hole stretch on the course when we were not exhausted.
Great course
The staff at GOlf NOw were great and every thing went along as planed without a hitch
Didn't compare to the rest of our trip
We picked this course as we got a very good deal on it and it was our first time out playing in Myrtle Beach this year and thought and easier course might be good for us. Sadly we chose poorly as this course was not in very good condition the fairways and greens were in rough shape but the layout is fantastic. The staff in the pro shop certainly didn't seem like they wanted us there as they hustled us out, gave us no pointers on the course and just wanted us to get out of the pro shop. With all of the great courses in that area including TPC of Myrtle Beach, Caledonia and Blackmoor this is a course that really needs to work to get the play that it needs from visitors.
Great Course
My first time at The Tradition and I will be back. The only negative was they were having a members Labor Day captains choice tournament and teed us off right in the middle of it so it was very slow going. I have no negative comments on the golf course....it was great. Wide fairways, rough was about the height of the golf ball so it was playable. Greens had consistent speed, they said the green speed was 10 but I don't think they were that fast. This is the best course for the money I have played at Myrtle Beach!
Great Beach Course
This is a wonderful course. It is very well maintained. The greens have a little bit of burn in them, but it did not affect play. It is a challenging course, but not overly so. I shot a new record for myself, 79.
Well maintained, no complaints
The course was in great shape for being July in SC, flip side being that the fairways and greens were very soft due to the amount of rain the area's had over the past few weeks. Hitting the ball in the rough actually penalized you, a nice change from a lot of other "vacation area" courses where the rough and fairways had very little variation in grass height.
Staff was extremely friendly, although it would have been nice if there was a ranger to speed up play a little.
Not a long course at all, but not gimmicky either (blind tee shots with sharp doglegs, etc.)
Great conditions, challenging and fun...
Played week before Memorial Day. Excellent conditions, super greens, fairways, tee boxes.
Greens have some movement on them but nothing crazy I thought.
Friendly staff. Will return again and will recommend to others.
Course conditions were great. Staff was friendly. Will have this on my list to play again.

Quality course 7.5/10 price a little high
Course had a great layout and the staff were friendly. Price was a little steep for the quality of the course but I understand nearly all courses in the surrounding areas are.
Water everywhere!
Loved playing this challenging course. I was in a twosome, and we were the first ones to tee off at 7:30AM. We took our time and had a blast. Alligators, sand and water (two island greens) were plentiful! Great deal under $50 using golfnow.
Excellent enjoyable course
A very enjoyable and playable course. Not very difficult but it punishes bad drives, so in this sense is very fair. The greens are manicured to perfection. A great course I would strongly recommend to friends.
Special Course
This was my favorite course on this trip. It was in amazing shape and fun to play. The staff was great. I will be back next year.
Great course for the money
In the Pawleys Area, courses on Golfnow ranged during the peak spring from $50-200. At $50, this was a great value for the money. Well conditioned with interesting holes.
