The course is in very good shape compared to a year or so ago.

Playing behind a group but there was no control over their pace of play. After the turn there was a twosome that had no regard for the following players

At one point we had 4 groups lined up at the 15th tee box waiting to play

Ridiculous

I haven’t played Rio in a long time in. But everything was 5 stars ⭐️ especially the greens!! Can’t wait to play it again. What a treat.

Played this course after hurricane Milton tore the area,

I really liked this course. It’s an old PGA championship course from the mid 60s. Therefore, it’s a bit challenging, but not overly difficult for the average golfer. The course was in very good condition with the exception of a couple of the tee boxes. The greens run fast. Carts are very nice and sport GPS, a cooler, and club/ball washer -nice. The worst part about the course (and others in the area) is trying to find your ball if it’s off the fairway. The grass just seems to swallow your ball. Even though its playable, you’ll have to find it first. LOL. Negatives: no drinking water on the course and the beverage cart was only at hole 3 and never to be seen again. Maybe you’ll be more fortunate.

We enjoyed our round so much the previous weekend, we rebooked for last Saturday, we enjoyed that so much, we rebooked for next weekend! Terry, the Ranger, was again, wonderful and helpful. All staff that we interacted with were gracious and cheerful. The Pro Shop attendant went out of his way to accommodate our reservation for next week. The course is in BEAUTIFUL condition (pre-Milton!) It was a little busy, but pace of play was EXCELLENT. We are delighted to have this course as a regular in our rotation of local courses.

The friendliness of the staff started before walking in the door. The new owners have gone a GREAT job in bringing the course back. The clubhouse looks better than a private clubhouse in the area.

We teed off 30 minutes late due to a slow shotgun tournament. Pace of play was terrible. Took three hours to get through the front nine. When we turned the nine we even had a twosome jump in front of us. The rough was 2 to 3 inches tall. Super hard to find your golf ball if you didn’t make the fairway. I got there at 11 for 12 o’clock teatime and had to leave early to make 5:30 dinner.

We like to stay close when we can, we'd rather golf than drive to and fro. We had an amazing experience yesterday. The course is in gorgeous condition. We'd not been here for 2+ years, due to an unpleasant experience on our last visit. We have completely changed our minds. Staff members were welcoming and cheerful, the course Ranger was exceptionally helpful. He kept the course moving, and shared friendly conversation. The restaurant looks beautiful and the restrooms are CLEAN and well stocked, both in the club house and on the course. We have already rebooked for next week!

Course was in great shape considering they had just sanded and rolled the front nine the day before. My buddy and I didn’t play our best, but still had a good time, and while the temperature rose we had a gentle breeze all day. Then we finished it off with Birria tacos in the clubhouse.

I play here about once a month and usually enjoy it...today the rough was 6" deep probably due to wet conditions but finding a ball 2 feet off the fairway very annoying...they location regulators on their cart that were totally messed up...driving down the middle of a fairway and the cart would stop...generally I find them a very unattractive aspect to the round
