Changes to the course are great and the new range, with complementary balls, is very nice. They just let far too many people on the course with very little organization. Hard not to think they are double booking tee times.
The Transformation Continues
I could not be more impressed with the number and type of improvements that have made at Rio Pinar over the past year. Though I have only lived in the Orlando area for the past five years, RP has gone from the course I would only play as a last resort to one of my favorites in the area. From tee-green-driving range-clubhouse, Rio has been dramatically improved in every way imaginable. In addition, for the most part, the staff could not be more helpful and friendly. I would encourage anyone to play this truly historic course. In my opinion, over the past year Rio Pinar has been transformed into one of the best golfing experiences and values in the area.
Tournaments
Course will schedule tournaments and then have to push tee times back. Why won’t they let customers know of the potential delay when booking. That’s twice already in last few months . If we arrive on time then let’s keep the tee time .
Ranger Needed
Who had a 5 hour Monday round on their Bingo card? Waited on every hole, a very slow threesome in front of us...giving each other lessons in the fairway and hitting multiple tee shots on many holes. 5 groups on #10 as we made the turn. By #11 , every group not visible and still waiting on the 3 ball. Rio can attract some characters; they need minded.
Course very playable, in very good shape.
On Course Staff
Cart girls hitting shots and drinking with intoxicated players contributed to a five hour round. Saw a ranger only twice during the round. When we could finally talk with him about the group causing all the delays it was on the 17th hole. He then tried to make excuses as to why he wasn’t around and why at this point “what do you want me to do? There are only two holes left.” I can deal with a slow round, but not if the groups aren’t keeping up because they are playing games with the cart girl and excessively flirting on the tee boxes. Greens and fairways were in very good shape.
Amazing course
Beautiful course in great condition with an amazing layout. Everything from the condition to the carts was perfect and unbeatable for the price. Gonna start playing here way more often
Perfect place
For value of money it is the perfect spot. Had a tee time for 11:37, had plenty of space between groups. Got there a little late so didn’t get to use the free trackman on the range, but the course was in great condition. The carts were comfy, had GPS and speakers! Greens were in great condition for the most part. Highly recommend!
Even in the rain it was a good day of golf
Me and my brother play golf once a week, and usually at courses with the lowest rates. Rio happened to be the lowest, so we when and was happy we did. The course was beautiful and taken care of, even saw workers while it was raining to make sure the course was in its best shape possible. The greens were great and overall was manicured nicely. Will play it again.
Looking great
Everyone was accommodating upon arrival. Course had major improvements that were made in the recent years. Will be back!
Beautiful Track!
This course is beautiful. It’s a great track & in very good condition! Highly recommend!
They don’t understand the concept of booking
cool track don’t get me wrong but it took me a hour to play 3 holes and they couldn’t even give me a rain check for 9 which is all i asked for. girl at the pro shop was nice tho. if you come here be prepared for a 5 hour round. also not the best condition for the price.
Average and SLOW!
Pace of play continues to be an issue here - another 5 hour round - par for the course here unfortunately.
Conditions are average at best - high percentage of the fairways are super patchy and most of the tee boxes are woeful. Greens were still recovering from aerifying >4 weeks earlier - no micro punch and in need of top dressing.
The course is tight, which is it's own challenge, to add dodgy fairways to that mix is just a double whammy. If you are off the fairway, forget about driving anywhere near your ball - the course has some of the most ridiculous geofencing you'll find anywhere. Be prepared for long walks to track down your ball - likely one of the main culprits to the terrible pace of play here.
While there has been significant improvement to the off course amenities, it's not enough to offset the course conditions or pace. 3 rounds there this year, same story - I won't be back.
Rio Pinar
The checkin staff was was very courteous and helpful. The course was under some maintenance with recently aerated and sanded greens. The tee boxes are still growing in. Sand traps were very good. While I did not use the recently completed new practice facilities, they looked great and they were still working on them along with other parts of the course. Everyone I encountered was friendly. I would definitely play here again and highly recommend playing here.
NEW AND IMPROVED!
Rio Pinar has been around since the 50’s and was once on the tour. In the Past years the course was given up on and was not the best greens or staffed. Rio Pinar was acquired last year by a new owner and the place has done a 360. It’s impeccable greens now. Great new bar and restaurant with friendly staff. Brand New outdoor trackman range with shade, Brand new 2024 carts, and very competitive course pricing. I will 100% be back.
