Pohick Bay Golf Course

Pb is a rustic course with challenging terrain and medium grounds attention; good value for money in a remote setting

Decent Condition. Greens were glass. Fairways a little patchy and real difficult pin positions. Pace of play was a bit slow as a 3some behind a 4some, so couldn't get into a rhythm most of the day.

Holes 14 and 15 being renovated and 13 was shortened. Pace of play was slow. Playing group behind were not patient and on one hole hit a ball over head of my playing seniors, who were upset.

When I pay, they said 2courses are closed and discounted $10. But when I was at 13th he they closed the half of the course( they made the home at the beginning of fairway) I thought that was the closed hole. So we lost 3 holes total and the discount was just 10 dollars. I didn’t go there if I new some of the courses were closed. $58 for 15holes for this course is not wortt it

This used to be one of the better public courses in the area. The condition has really gone downhill. The starter was aloof and on her phone the entire 20 minutes we were near the clubhouse area. It is very shady that they do not tell you that several holes are closed until after you book your tee time.

Course is still in late fall condition with 13, 14, & 15 essentially closed for repair. Course is only good for practice rounds to knock the winter rust off.

We got there and there for our 9:40 tee time and there was a 2.5 hour frost delay. Even though no frost or any type of moisture on the practice green. Then the front 9 was in ok shape, not great but ok. Back 9 was awful. Two holes were closed and we knew that going in. What they didn’t say is they cut a 3rd hole that was a par 5 into a 75 par 3 with no green and a basketball size hole. From there on, the course was almost unplayable. Fairways were dirt. Greens were terrible. I’ve played here in the past and was fine for the money. I’ll never play here again after this experience.

This course is usually pretty decent, but BEWARE BEFORE YOU PAY...2.5 holes are NOT PLAYABLE and there's NO NOTIFICATION PRIOR TO PURCHASING ONLINE (there IS a sign on their door at the course). After already paying for the round, I found out when I got there two holes are completely off-limits and one Par 5 was modified to a Par 3 (and a poor one to say the least). I wouldn't have been so critical about this, but the staff's attitude was kinda like ho-hum, sorry. They were like "well you got it on a Hot-Deal anyway" so no need to offer anything further. VERY disappointed how the staff handled the 2.5 unplayable hole situation. Would have went elsewhere had I know of course conditions - and disappointed at their lack of empathy or concern regarding over-paying for 15 legit holes. GOLF NOW and POHICK should ensure there is notice of this construction BEFORE MAKING THE PURCHASE ONLINE!

There was no mention that 3 holes are closed until you check in. $10 was taken off but it would have been nice to know online when I booked the tee time. The tee boxes were mostly dirt and the fairways were patchy and not good at all. I understand winter is just ending but this course was in rough shape.

Course was in good shape considering it is March. Unfortunately when your paying almost mid summer rates you’d expect to know that 3 holes are under construction and unable to be played. We were not informed of that and didn’t find out until we got to hole 13. The par 5 has been cut down with a temporary green to maybe 100 yards. And then it skips you straight to 16. Other than that the course was fine and played pretty fast

Showed up to a frost delay wasn’t notified (not a big deal) staff was super friendly and was able to get us out rather quickly. Bigger issue was not getting a heads up that three of the holes where closed prior to teeing off 13-14-15. There was no discounted rate as I’ve played the FULL course for the same price. It’s a Good course would go back but disappointed about the lack of communication and the full priced greens fees.

I played Pohick Bay last Wednesday when their was a frost delay. I had a 11:20. Due to some misunderstandings regarding when we could get it out and having a 2 1/2 hour delay, I arrived 1 hour and 20 minutes later expecting to fall in line with the delay however I was told by the starter I had missed my tee time. I spoke to the manager who worked everything out and my guest and I were able to get out at 2:20. Although initially disappointed about the miscommunication the Pohick Bay staff worked it all out so we could get out and play. I also received a call from the assistant manager two days after my round explaining his concern about the frost delay and communication on my tee times. Most course managers might let this slide and not make the effort to clear up the situation, but this assistant manager took the extra step to make things right, clear up any problems and make sure the next time we come out and every time after that our experience at Pohick will be one that will keep us coming back. Thank you for your attention to detail and your assistance in this matter.

Staff is nice try to accommodate players,they new is going to have good Weatherford at least 1 day but they couldn't try to spread tee in different holes. I had to wait for at least 45 minutes after my tee time... from what I heard they do this all the time :(

2 1/2 hour frost delay, my tee time was 11:20, I arrived at 1250, and I was told I missed my tee time. I called the course three times in the morning trying to find out what time I needed to be there, Christina, who answered the phone and works at the course could not tell me.

Some how they got everyone out, from the start of the tee sheet at 0800 until 11:20, in 40 minutes, because they didn’t open the course until 10:30. How do you do that without a shotgun start? I was able to get out but not until 2:20pm. Very disappointed. I won’t be going back.
