Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course in Lorton has been one of the area's most popular public courses since it opened in the early 1980s. Playing at Pohick Bay is like playing two golf courses in one, with a front nine that has long, tree-lined fairways and a hillier back nine that features a variety of doglegs and water holes. It is a definitely a shot-maker's course so be prepared to use some creativity and some thoughtful strategizing doesn’t hurt either. The constant up and down of the golf course provides uneven lies and a number of blind shots. The dramatic terrain also makes it a tough course to walk. Trees frame most of the holes, demanding accuracy but also providing a peaceful and secluded feel. Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course is popular amongst locals for being one of the most challenging and yet also one of the most affordable courses in the area.

Fun challenge
Nice layout. Good condition. Tough to play from the rough but that is how a challenging course should be. Amenities a bit limited. Pace of play was very slow.

Playing course was great. I would suggest that the Starter takes time to look at pace of groups at first hole to better spread out or create the intervals between groups.

Solid and Fun Option
The course is coming around after a lot of work and should shine this season. The staff is always friendly and the pass was exceptional! The greens are progressing nicely this season.

Played on a Tuesday. Good pace, good price, like the layout. Greens however were slow, bumpy and sandy without aeration ion. Otherwise I enjoyed it
Great. Purse for the money
Well kept course for a reasonable price. Challenging for the average player. Clubhouse needs work.

Greens had a lot of sand on them. The rough is also quite high and inconsistent/lumpy.

Great Value for Money
Played at Pohick Bay for the first time yesterday. Very different nines with the back nine being much more challenging. Super friendly staff and great value for $$. Highly recommended this facility.

Fun Track
The course did the aeration 3 weeks ago and the holes on the greens are just filling up. challenging track with lots of doglegs and hills. I wouldn't recommend walking on hot and humid days. The staff were very friendly and the pace of play was decent for a busy sunday afternoon.
