Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course in Lorton has been one of the area's most popular public courses since it opened in the early 1980s. Playing at Pohick Bay is like playing two golf courses in one, with a front nine that has long, tree-lined fairways and a hillier back nine that features a variety of doglegs and water holes. It is a definitely a shot-maker's course so be prepared to use some creativity and some thoughtful strategizing doesn’t hurt either. The constant up and down of the golf course provides uneven lies and a number of blind shots. The dramatic terrain also makes it a tough course to walk. Trees frame most of the holes, demanding accuracy but also providing a peaceful and secluded feel. Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course is popular amongst locals for being one of the most challenging and yet also one of the most affordable courses in the area.

Tee time
Had a 4 o’clock tee time for three people and was told we only had an hour to play 9 holes then got miss charged and they took 15 minutes to fix it. If your looking for a place to play a quick 9 holes after work this is not the course to play
Great public course!
Great course. Everywhere else has had tee box issues and green issues because of the excess rain this summer, but not Pohick. Tee boxes are perfect and the greens are actually green. Great price with cart included.
Good condition for this time of year
Haven't played this course in a long time, but it's in very good condition. Greens aren't particularly fast, but the tee box distances vary enough to make it challenging enough to have to think through most holes.
I love Pohick, but…
I’ve been patronizing Pohick for a while, however the tail end of this summer has seen the course deteriorate to a point that I need to write this unfortunate review.
Great Walk
Had the pleasure of being paired up with two staff members of the course for 18. Learned a lot, saw their passion for the course, and had a great walk with these guys. Can't wait to come back and see all their hard work come to fruition.
Been playing at Pohick for almost 20 years, these were the worst conditions I’ve seen.
Too bad because I really like this course, but will give it 6-7 weeks until it recovers.
Greens were burned out and diseased. Same with tee boxes. Fairways were okay.
