About
Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course in Lorton has been one of the area's most popular public courses since it opened in the early 1980s. Playing at Pohick Bay is like playing two golf courses in one, with a front nine that has long, tree-lined fairways and a hillier back nine that features a variety of doglegs and water holes. It is a definitely a shot-maker's course so be prepared to use some creativity and some thoughtful strategizing doesn’t hurt either. The constant up and down of the golf course provides uneven lies and a number of blind shots. The dramatic terrain also makes it a tough course to walk. Trees frame most of the holes, demanding accuracy but also providing a peaceful and secluded feel. Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course is popular amongst locals for being one of the most challenging and yet also one of the most affordable courses in the area.

Golf course was in surprisingly in good condition cart paths are a little bit chewed up which makes for a bumpy ride but they’ve done a very good job fixing a couple of their problematic greens from years past that would be Holzer12 and 13 are very challenging, but good grades with a little more diligence This could actually be a five star rated course much improved over the years.

Well maintained Green
One of the best public golf course in Northern Virginia. Very reasonably priced and playful par-4's and I would love to tell folks about Pohick Bay.

Hot golf
The course, although on a hot humid weather, played between ok to difficult for me.. Greens were a bit fast, fairways ok, some rough areas need cutting, and a few tee boxes need TLC. The first few holes had pace issues which I do notice every time I play this course. Overall, it was a good weekend playing golf at Pohick Bay.

Could be so good
Really nice course with an interesting layout. Really let down by the condition of the greens which are badly pock marked by unrepaired and badly repaired pitch marks. The greens themselves are a challenge but spoiled by the pocking. Fairways and tee boxes in good in good condition. Pace of play was laboured as there are areas where misses are punishing and some groups were optimists looking for balls in dense forests with undergrowth. Really enjoyed the course but hard to score with such bumpy greens.
