About
Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course in Lorton has been one of the area's most popular public courses since it opened in the early 1980s. Playing at Pohick Bay is like playing two golf courses in one, with a front nine that has long, tree-lined fairways and a hillier back nine that features a variety of doglegs and water holes. It is a definitely a shot-maker's course so be prepared to use some creativity and some thoughtful strategizing doesn’t hurt either. The constant up and down of the golf course provides uneven lies and a number of blind shots. The dramatic terrain also makes it a tough course to walk. Trees frame most of the holes, demanding accuracy but also providing a peaceful and secluded feel. Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course is popular amongst locals for being one of the most challenging and yet also one of the most affordable courses in the area.

Great Track with a variety of holes
Pohick GC has made great strides to improve on a nice design. Tee boxes have been reshaped and new back tees were added to several holes.
I already enjoy this course as there are elevation changes. You cannot just think Driver off the tee box. Water comes into play on several holes. There is opportunity for scoring and messing up. Go and play!

Pace of Play 👎🏽
Pace of play was terrible. I decided to get a rain check for my 2nd 9 due to it being a 2.5+ hour 9 hole round. The starter was less than pleasant lol.

Great public course!
We went here for the first time and thought the course was great! The grass was wet and muddy- cart path only- because we've had so much rain. But it is a really lovely course with lots of trees on either side. We found it a little challenging playing it for the first time and not seeing where our shots needed to be. It's quite hilly and I would frankly never walk it. Will definitely go back. We got it on a TEE OFF deal so it was well worth the $43.

It’s been awhile, glad I came back
Haven’t played here in several years. Course condition is fantastic. Great tee boxes- level and not covered with divots. Greens could’ve been mowed tighter to speed them up, but otherwise we’re in great condition.

Greens were in really nice shape. Putts broke less than anticipated.
