Liked the course layout…some greens were a bit rough and slow …sand in traps was course and rocky in some.
Overall a good experience for cost.
Poor shape
The course was not good. The rough hadn’t been mowed in 3 weeks. Really slowed play down. Some of the greens were very rough with no grass in spots. Looks like their is no money investment back into the course.
This course needs to be shut down
I played the course was so disappointed in it. Let’s start with the tea boxes we are mostly dirt specially the number 11 hole no seems to move the markers. Many of the markers are missing so you only have one not sure what the cost of a team marker is, but maybe they should invest in one next would be the fairways besides weeds and some holes just being pretty much dirt, not much good to say about them. Then we get to the rough and I spent most of my day looking for my ball. Does anyone know that if you just mowed the rough down that would speed up and make it more enjoyable for the players let’s talk about the greens the colors around the greens are disgusting to try to putt on them is impossible. Next will be the greens besides being extremely slow many of them have weeds last, but not least. The person that’s setting the cups need to learn how to set them correctly. My partner had a wonderful pop only to have it bounce out from the edge of the cup being too high. I believe there’s a standard that needs to be addressed when setting cups. Finally my thought is don’t waste your money. There’s many golf courses that are in much better condition. My suggestion to these people and run this golf course need to shut it down or invest. Also make sure you use the bathroom before you start because they have no facilities out on the course .
Not worth any money
We played with 3 people on a Monday morning and the pace of play on the front 9 was terribly slow. The course was in terrible shape. There was a storm that had gone through several days before and it didn’t appear as if they had cleaned anything up but the trees that had fallen. The bunkers were unplayable as they were extremely hard with grass and weeds growing in them. I am not sure when the tee boxes had been moved last. The fairways had weeds that were 6-8 inches long. We will never play again for any amount of money.
Attention to details are needed
I have played EAGLE POINTE many times . Nice layout never boring. The conditions and lack of attention to details were evident this year.
Piles of grass clipping lying along edges of greens and in the fairways . Bunkers and sand traps appear to have not been groomed in weeks. Fairways and greens were in good condition. Maintenance staff needs supervision and the course would benefit significantly.
That having been said for the price in the HILTON Head market the course remains a great value.
Good value and friendly staff
The front nine was in great shape. The back nine was not as good. However, it was a good value and we would play again.
Dixson Eagle Point
Good course some bad greens under repair could not dial in garmin for course layout with so many close by
Dogtrack
The staff was really nice, the layout and neighborhood surrounding were well designed… but the conditions were a real bummer. Greens were diseased and some were up to 20-30% dead, fairways and tee boxes looked and felt like they hadn’t been mowed in a week for the spots that actually had continuous grass. If your goal is cheap ($55 on a Saturday morning), sure. But with the amount of other courses in Bluffton and HHI, I would tell anyone I care about to not come here unless they completely renovate.
Enjoyable Golf Day
We have played here quite a few times. Fairways and tee boxes are in decent shape. Sand traps need TLC but it had rained previous night. Most of the greens were in fair condition. The staff from check in to cart workers were kind & helpful. Pace of play was great. Overall priced fairly and we will be back.
