About
The 18-hole Eagle's Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton, S.C. is a public course that opened in 1998. Designed by Davis Love III, Eagle's Pointe measures 6,738 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 130 and a 72.5 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.
The hallmarks of Eagle's Pointe are its classical, risk-reward design, natural beauty, strategy, variety and superb conditioning, along with outstanding customer service.
Winding through stands of moss-draped live oaks and pines and fresh-water wetlands and lagoons, Eagle's Pointe Golf Club's spacious corridors allow the golfer to keep driver in hand, while its dramatic bunkering, unique green sites and contoured putting surfaces combine to create one of the most exciting venues in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Don’t play. Waste of time and money!,
Course unplayable. Fairway not cut because of “rain”. We lost several balls in middle of fairway. Grass above at least half of my shoe. I played five courses in Hilton Head same week and all fairways were in very good shape. Must have been poor drainage. Half of greens unplayable because of crabgrass and no sand in traps. I would not have played if I did not prepay through golf now. I am thinking Golf now should be responsible for knowing course conditions that are this bad. I will be hesitant to use your app and prepay since I will have no recourse.Don’t
Poor maintenance
If you want to putt on some crap grass greens the place is for you. If you enjoy a nice round of golf DON’T play here!

Staff is always great, course was in a little rough shape. They are working hard to get it back to its normal great condition. Tons of rain the last month and half did it damage.

Find somewhere else to play
Fairways appeared to have been cut for the first time in a month.could hardly find your ball in fairway not to mention the rough.Bunkers we’re basically unplayable,greens were more weeds than grass.
If you have a bad back the cart paths will knock you out.Roughest I have ever seen.
Staff was friendly enough but take your own drinks etc as we saw no beverage cart.

I like the design but the course was portly maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Conditions
We lost several balls in the fairway, due to long grass. We were told that due to recent weather grass in fairways was long. We should have been given some discount. Traps were in awful condition.

What happened?
It is in very poor condition. Too bad because used to be a nice tough course with very good layout. Staff blamed it on recent heavy rains, but many more problems than that. Pro shop is nice with lots of quality merchandise. We started on back nine which should be shut down until it is playable. Front nine much better condition although fairway aren’t mowed. Nice gators to see at least. Son shot 75 from the tips.

Where‘a my ball?
I have never played a course before that had fairway grass this tall! You could hit into the center of the fairway and not have a chance of finding your ball. We added up in our group of three we lost a total of 21 balls. So that sound you hear when you do now will be Titleist balls being skinned!

Course was in terrible shape. Fairways were like hitting out of the rough. Greens were also poor. Weeds and dead areas. Won’t play here again.

Worst fairways I’ve ever played on
Wish I had read reviews before booking. Rough was about 4” deep and fairways were 2-1/2” to 3” deep not counting the piles of dead grass on top of it. I lost 5 balls in the middle of the fairways. The greens were generally cut short if they had grass on them. Love the layout and the staff were friendly. I would be embarrassed to take green fees if I owned this course.

Do not play
The quality of Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club has gone downhill over the past few years. I hate to leave a review like this, but aside from the pace of play (since barely anyone was playing), there is nothing redeemable about this course. Until money, staff, and care are updated to the course, do not play.

Kick Eagle Point off of Golf Now
This course was one of the best courses in the Low Country. Now it is one of the worst in five states. The lack of management and money makes this one time gem a heart breaker. The tee boxes and fairways were not groomed. The greens were covered in crabgrass. The carts were in bad repair. The whole course should have had cattle grazing on it instead of playing golf on it. All these golf investment companies are just bleeding the life out of some of the best courses in this area.

Golf Course gone Bad
I really think it is a shame that a course in and around Hilton Head Island is in as bad a condition as this course. Fairways were so deep in grass it took extra time just to find the ball. Greens were cut down but had so many weeds it was impossible to hit a true put. Staff was very apologetic but it still amazes me that the rates were what they were. Would not recommend playing this course at this time. If I were Davis Love and had my name attached to this course I would get something done and done quickly. Truly a disappointment.
