About
The 18-hole Eagle's Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton, S.C. is a public course that opened in 1998. Designed by Davis Love III, Eagle's Pointe measures 6,738 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 130 and a 72.5 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.
The hallmarks of Eagle's Pointe are its classical, risk-reward design, natural beauty, strategy, variety and superb conditioning, along with outstanding customer service.
Winding through stands of moss-draped live oaks and pines and fresh-water wetlands and lagoons, Eagle's Pointe Golf Club's spacious corridors allow the golfer to keep driver in hand, while its dramatic bunkering, unique green sites and contoured putting surfaces combine to create one of the most exciting venues in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Eagles Pointe
Course is very wet. Cart paths are in terrible shape. Greens are below average

Terrible course. Do not play here even if it was free
This is the worst course I have ever played. We booked a tee time and showed up 15 minutes early and the course was closed with no staff there. We started the round 20 minutes late as well. The overall course was not maintained at all. The greens were so bumpy and absolutely unplayable. The tee boxes were muddy and uneven. The sand traps were covered in leafs and had were very hard. The cart path was also not drivable because of huge cracks, holes, and tree roots. We had to drive on the fairway just to have a flat surface. Being one of the few groups on the course, the maintenance crew followed right behind us and would blow the bunkers and the greens as we putted. This was very distracting and caused a lot of noise. We tried to get a refund for the course because we made the tee time online I spent 35 minutes on the phone with customer service who did not believe me that the course was closed and was unwilling to give me my money back. As an experienced golfer this was the worst golf experience of my life and it was not even worth the $40 we spent.

Solid public course. Needs some work, but in many respects a quality course. For the most part the tee boxes were well-maintained and the greens were consistent. Traps were well groomed. A lot of workers were on the course maintaining it. Cart paths need work. Bathrooms very clean. I played early on a cold day and finished the round in under 3 hours. Staff was very friendly and helpful including those out on the course.

Needs a lot of work
Pro shop guy was not very welcoming.
Cart paths are in terrible shape and the back nine was cart path only. Drainage issues on the back nine especially. Muddy.

Much better
Much better than a month ago! Fairways cut and course in decent condition for winter golf. Some greens still in patchy condition but overall a good experience. I enjoy the layout with some challenging holes but some eagle and many birdie opportunities when hitting the fairways. A few difficult pin positions on the shorter par fours make it fun.

It was cart path on the second nine but they generously let us play the front nine twice. Pro Shop staff were very helpful.

Warm up round in Hilton Head
Not withstanding, we played this course a few days after Hurricane Nicole. Grass was understandably a bit long from all the rain but staff was cutting as we played. For what we paid I consider it a value. Good layout. Great course to shack off the Northern rust.

The course is nicely laid out
the course is nicely laid out and fun to play. It needs work however and we played on the heels of a tropical storm so many of the fairways were flooded. In good weather, it would be a nice course but still needing a fair amount of work to bring it to expected standards.

Not much maintenance right now.
The course staff were very friendly. There has not been any over seeding so the Bermuda is dormant. Tee boxes are rough but there has not been a lot of play. Fairways are spotty and we played winter rules a number of times. Greens putted well considering the spotty appearance. The price because we got a Hot Deal, was reasonable for the condition. We started at 9am and saw no other golfers throughout our round, the course was not busy. .
