About
The 18-hole Eagle's Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton, S.C. is a public course that opened in 1998. Designed by Davis Love III, Eagle's Pointe measures 6,738 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 130 and a 72.5 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.
The hallmarks of Eagle's Pointe are its classical, risk-reward design, natural beauty, strategy, variety and superb conditioning, along with outstanding customer service.
Winding through stands of moss-draped live oaks and pines and fresh-water wetlands and lagoons, Eagle's Pointe Golf Club's spacious corridors allow the golfer to keep driver in hand, while its dramatic bunkering, unique green sites and contoured putting surfaces combine to create one of the most exciting venues in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Off island course
The course is in good condition, fairways are greening up nicely. Still a little wet in spots but very playable.
Good value for the cost
Course was in playable condition but nothing special. Good value for the money. Pace of play was good and staff was very friendly.

Wet course always
Price was right with a hot deal on GolfNow However it had not rained for over a week and course was soggy. Back nine was cart path only. Staff was good and professional but 2 people were trying to run everything. Way understaffed. Greens were still fast. But have some weed growth in them. Bunkers were mostly neglected with water standing in them. Overall course is just not up to standards for the Hilton head area.

Needs maintenance
The staff was friendly and professional. This is a big plus. The course was tired and needed a lot of work. It could be that it was mid February and that they hadn't started their work yet. But the traps had many places where the sand had washed away from all around the edges. They were also as hard as rocks. I know that sand trap maintenance is expensive, but they are an integral part of a course. The grass/weeds around the lakes needed to be trimmed and in many cases the lakes needed to be totally cleaned out. The layout is good. I would wait several weeks to play it in the hope that their staff starts working and cleans up the place.

Grouchy uncle chuck
Very friendly staff, checking in was a breeze, even took the cart to pickup the clubs.
First hole the green was a little beat up but by the second was a lot better and from then on just fine.
They had had a lot of rain just prior to us playing, but for the price it is a no brainer.

Very wet
Lots of mud. Cart path only. Standing water lots of places. Would be ok if not so wet. Greens need a lot of work.

Overrated
Course needs a lot of growth. Greens were nonexistent.

Too wet (after a weekend of rain), to play on a Monday
On a Sunny dry day, the course is more enjoyable. But shortly after rainy days, it's too muddy. Cart path only is understandable, but walking in the muddy areas near tee boxes and greens, is not good. Especially on the back nine.
The cart path is very bumpy too.

So much potential
Seems like it probably was a great course once upon a time. Greens were in really horrible shape, almost unplayable. Needs a lot of TLC

Tee boxes not so good. Sand traps thin. Fairways good. Greens ok.

A day at Eagle Pointe GC
Overall design of GC is beautiful surrounded pine trees.

Nice relaxing round
This is my third time playing Eagle's Point as I'm recovering from multiple back surgeries & trying different courses in the area. The staff is friendly & the only reason I didn't give a five is it's off season so I would expect better conditions during the regular season.
It's got tight as well as open fairways. I won't judge the greens at this time but they aren't super challenging but good enough. I enjoyed my round & the pace of play was exceptional.
