Old South Golf Links

Have visited Hilton Head many times over the past 15 years, Old South Golf Links has always been a favourite course to play. The layout with its views is outstanding. But the condition of the course and the greens in particular were extremely poor with some greens no better than compacted mud.

So disappointed will likely never play this course again!!!

The course itself was a good layout with wonderful views. I enjoyed the round with one exception, and I would guess that it is a common practice for all the courses when out of town play is extensive. The times were gapped too close together. I understand why but a 4 hour round took over five hours. We felt rushed constantly throughout the round. Besides that, I enjoyed the course. (Exceptional chicken salad BTW!)

The greens were in horrible shape looks like this some kind of fungus growing play this course for the last 4 years a bit disappointed this year

The staff, course layout, inexpensive food/beverage and the reduced $80 green fees made the round enjoyable. The greens are in need of repair and some bunkers were not maintained.

Greens were terrible and starter staff was rude. I will not be back and enjoyed Old South in the past.

On 5/24/2024 the greens were very iffy! I have played here for over 25 yrs and these conditions of the greens were the worst!

I have played this course quite a few times and it has always been in very good condition. I was really disappointed in the greens. A lot of bare spots with just dirt/sand. They had one temporary green. For late May, this was surprising. Tee boxes and fairways were in good condition. Hopefully they can get some grass back on the greens.

Lovely course great experience. Loved playing. But the health condition many of the greens left little be desired especially the back nine

Stay away from this course. If you pay $40 then I would say go ahead. For what this place charges is ridiculous when some of the greens were beat up and impossible to putt on. Take your money and find a different course. The staff is good there at least.

Would give a solid five stars except some of the greens were about dead. So, putting was not consistent throughout the course. Nice layout and very friendly staff. Worth a play if you are not too picky about the greens.

Everything was good except the greens need attention. We got rained out after 9 holes and attendant at bag drop was fantastic and let us put out clubs under cover in the cart barn and drive our vehicle over there so we didn’t t have soaked clubs. Again only disappointment was the greens. Everything else was great.a

Loved playing this course on an early tee time. Wasn’t too hot till the last couple holes. Stopped by here when out on the east coast trip to see family. Lovely layout, had some easy layup holes and some tricky placement ones over the marsh. Super fun! Only downside was some of the greens had some issues and patches. But still played well. Will definitely be back on the next trip!
