Old South Golf Links

I really enjoy this course. It has a lot more character than many of the courses around HHI, both on and off the island.

It seems that the rates have really gone up in the last couple of years, but I found that to be true with all the other courses I played or considered. Still, relative to most of the other courses around here, the greens fees are on the lower side for the quality of course you get.

We played an 18 hole round, and my friend who had not been here before thoroughly enjoyed it, and we never had to wait on a hole. A few days later, we played Golden Bear at Indigo Run. After taking 45 minutes to play the first 2 holes, and 2.5 hours to play the front, we (a twosome of single digit handicaps) said screw it, went over to Old South, and played a delightful 9.

Very friendly staff in the pro shop and grill, I might add.

It's a little scary to view a drone video of a course and see a lot of water. But during the round we found that the many lakes, ponds and creeks of Old South had very little affect on our playing decisions.

This property is an all around first class operation from the facilities and equipment to the staff, but we couldn't have played here without the GolfNow price. Normal it's in the range of $80+ and the course shows it with pristine tee boxes, fairways and greens.

Watch out, though, for the challenging 7th/8th hole combo. The par 4 7th features a forced-carry-layup over marsh then a right turn over water to a green surrounded by bunkers. This is followed by the par 3 8th with another forced carry over marsh.

We hope to play here again the next time we're in the area.

Course was in an excellent condition. Fairways well manicured. Greens were in good shape but grainy. But the course is well worth the money.

Kudos to the superintendent staff!

My sons and I loved golfing this course.

Most holes were fairly challenging and well designed.

The course, pro shop and carts were all very well maintained and the staff were courteous and informative.

When we get back to Hilton Head we will definitely play this course again.

Liked the course and the layout, back nine being the better of the 2 - 9’s. Enjoyed the tougher holes with longer carry’s being the norm. Staff was professional and accommodating, particularly Jim the starter. Unfortunately the greens were in rough shape on top of being recently airated. I would consider trying this course next time I visit.

Course was fun and interesting. Nice staff and warm up facilities. Greens were horrible. Burned out in some sections. Inconsistent speeds due to recent aeration

Greens were a bit bumpy from recent ariation, pace of play was a bit slow, but it was a Saturday am. I enjoyed the layout and openness of the course. Pro shop staff and restaurant staff were excellent.

Greens were in decent shape although some had a bare spot or two. Not enough to make much difference overall.

This is a great track to play! Beautiful views and layout along the marsh. Enjoyed the outing and will book another rounds soon!

Greens were very shaggy as they had been aerated last week. A few tee boxes were getting re-sodded and were limited on space. Due to recent rain storms, course was soaked.

Loved everything about the course.

Will play it again soon.
