Old South Golf Links

Good course for the price. Played Harbour Town, Heron Point and Atlantic Dunes also. Old South is the only one I’d pay to play again and again.

It was cart path only the day we played because of a recent rain, but the course was in such nice shape you could understand why they wanted to keep it that way. The fairways were in great shape as were the greens.

The course is moderately challenging with most holes being fairly normal and a few very difficult ones thrown in a for good measure. It was a good mixture of both to me.

I liked it. Even a duffer like me was able to score an 87 on this at times challenging course.

A good value for the money when you include the shape of the course, the views and scenery, and the layout.

First time playing here. Super friendly and helpful staff. Course was in great shape. One of the best values we’ve played in the area.

The course was in pretty good condition . It started at bag drop nobody home until I almost finished loading bags. Stopped at clubhouse gentleman took a phone call after we were already engaged in conversation. We were sent on our way to first tee, starter very unprofessional could not find our name until I pointed it out for him. No offers for water, scorecard or course info or direction. No gps in carts…as we finished parked cart walked 2 bags to the car and started loading then gentleman approached and offered to wipe down clubs. The course was ok I found others much more to my liking and less$$. I would not come back , I would choose to spend my money and time elsewhere.

I really enjoy this course. It has a lot more character than many of the courses around HHI, both on and off the island.

It seems that the rates have really gone up in the last couple of years, but I found that to be true with all the other courses I played or considered. Still, relative to most of the other courses around here, the greens fees are on the lower side for the quality of course you get.

We played an 18 hole round, and my friend who had not been here before thoroughly enjoyed it, and we never had to wait on a hole. A few days later, we played Golden Bear at Indigo Run. After taking 45 minutes to play the first 2 holes, and 2.5 hours to play the front, we (a twosome of single digit handicaps) said screw it, went over to Old South, and played a delightful 9.

Very friendly staff in the pro shop and grill, I might add.

It's a little scary to view a drone video of a course and see a lot of water. But during the round we found that the many lakes, ponds and creeks of Old South had very little affect on our playing decisions.

This property is an all around first class operation from the facilities and equipment to the staff, but we couldn't have played here without the GolfNow price. Normal it's in the range of $80+ and the course shows it with pristine tee boxes, fairways and greens.

Watch out, though, for the challenging 7th/8th hole combo. The par 4 7th features a forced-carry-layup over marsh then a right turn over water to a green surrounded by bunkers. This is followed by the par 3 8th with another forced carry over marsh.

We hope to play here again the next time we're in the area.

Course was in an excellent condition. Fairways well manicured. Greens were in good shape but grainy. But the course is well worth the money.

Kudos to the superintendent staff!

My sons and I loved golfing this course.

Most holes were fairly challenging and well designed.

The course, pro shop and carts were all very well maintained and the staff were courteous and informative.

When we get back to Hilton Head we will definitely play this course again.

Appreciated the Southern hospitality at the Old South Golf Links!
