Unique holes, but very playable. Cost was in tip top shape.

Was disappointed in overall condition of course compared to a few years back. Green speeds were inconsistent. Looked like some were cut and others not. Course was not manicured well like it has been in past. Pace of play was very slow. Our foursome waited on every hole behind a twosome and other groups in front of them.

Very nice scores, friendly staff, very nice carts with GPS and radio.

The fairways were really good. Lots of fake grass and we really enjoyed playing the course we play it again.

My family comes down to Hilton head a few times a year every year over the last 30 years I’ve played old South a few times but hadn’t played it since pre-Covid. What a great surprise seeing what good conditions it was in

I’ve played a lot of courses over the years in many different places. This is a great value for the money, and a excellent experience overall.

I’ve been coming to HHI every year for over 30 years. Old South is a must play no matter what the conditions. It’s always a little transitional at this time of the year but still a fun course to test your abilities. Course is not for the faint of heart. Lots of water and marsh carries. If you are not an above average golfer, this can be a very difficult course. Totally different from the other courses on the island. Try it for a truly great outing. Scenery is beautiful. Driving range needs a lot of work.

I enjoyed our time at old south golf course. The staff was very friendly, the course was in good shape, and we enjoyed the scenery. I would definitely recommend the course.

Greens were a little patchy, but overall, a great course! Watch out for the gators!!

Greens and tee boxes were poor. Lots of sand to fill dead spots. Fairways were decent.

Came to South Carolina to play what I thought were world class golf courses. I was.not impressed with the greens at this course. The greens were fair at best. For the price we paid we would have expected better conditions. The staff was really friendly and helpful.

This course was highly recommended and I was disappointed. I’d say about half the greens needed work. Dead spots on a lot of them. Greens are also extremely small. Seen miniature golf courses with larger greens. Fairways where nice for the most part. Some spots had some drainage issues. Tee boxes were in good shape. Layout wasn’t bad as long as you’re in a cart. Some holes had a good distance between them or the cart path stopped half way up the hole. Club house was nice. Staff was great. Pace of play was around 4.5 hrs. Waited some for other golfers, but nothing to bad. Carts had GPS, Bluetooth speakers and course layout. I’d play the course again, but it by no means would be in my top list of wanting to play again.

Just love this place. Fairways are in great shape. A few greens are showing some wear. Regardless this is a wonderful course to play. Highly recommend it and I look forward to playing it again soon.

I generally like Old South. However, currently the greens are not in very good shape.. There are many with significant patches of sand which makes putting very challenging. Greens are very slow due to the amount of repairs in progress.

Fairways were in very good conditions.

Not currently worth the prices being charged.

Suggest calling ahead to get an assessment of the condition of the greens before booking.

Beautiful course with fantastic scenery. Some very challenging holes and some easier ones too. Staff is always great. Fairways are in great condition. There are a few greens with some fungus damage around the edges but playable, and a few tee boxes are showing some wear. Overall it's a great course as always. Highly recommended.

Course was in good shape about 6 greens heavy sanding, pace of play was. Poor no Marshall. 4.5 hours to play 15 holes I left. Waited 20 min. to tee off. A friendly group of seniors let us play through after delaying play at 10th hole to get lunch. If you like slow play this is the place, no me never again.
