First time playing here. My son and I loved the course and it was a very good value. Friendly staff and the course looked great!

Have always enjoyed the course, but the greens were not just punched. They were also sanded terribly and not rolled. Was like putting in the rough. No warning during check in, and I guess GN wouldn’t warn you. But ruined the day.

Old South is an excellent track with an enjoyable layout. I played it with my 14 year old son, and he loved it also.

We played from the blues. The fairways were in excellent condition and the tee boxes were good as well. However, like many courses at this time of year, they had aerated the greens recently and applied sand. The greens are on their way back in now, and I'd imagine will be really good in another week or two. If you can book a round towards the end of the month, absolutely do so.

Love Old South Golf Links. This course has traditional, straightforward holes, then some very different, interesting holes that require specific shot placement. The 4th Hole Par 3 has an option to get a Pro Shop Gift Card if you hit the green; one of the coolest features on any course I’ve ever played. Very scenic layout, loved this course.

Had a great time playing today. Staff was very friendly and inviting. Driving range was good, not excellent. Course is in great shape minus the greens. They were recently aerated and are slow and rough. Otherwise the course was very challenging with a lot of OB and water. Highly recommend for the rate.

First time playing the course and was surprised. Good layout with some good amenities and fairly friendly staff. Really enjoyed the end of the front nine being in the marsh and having some island holes, bridges were nice and not degraded much. Only downside was the recent green aeration and alot of top dressing making it hard to judge for speed, almost played all putts through the break that would be there. Conditions of the green added a stroked easily every hole if your proximity was outside 20 feet.

Course is nice! Greens are a little lacking this time of year but rolled good just didn't look good. Staff was awesome!

Thoroughly enjoyed the front nine and most of the back nine; however, the back nine has a few strange holes that are unfair unless you have previous experience on the course.

Made reservations on GolfNow as a single to start on front nine, get to to the course, check in everything is fine till I get to the stater shack 20 minutes before tee time and he tells me he already gave my tee time away to someone else and I would have to start play on the back nine. I tell him I’d prefer not because you can end up getting stuck after 9 holes trying to squeeze back into a slow front nine. He tells me I would have to wait about an hour to tee off on the front nine. So much for making a reservation at this course. GolfNow should crack down on courses like this that give away reservations

Greens were aerated and of course were terrible but you can't hold that against them, it has to be done. However I can't rate the greens. The rest of the course was great.I would recommend Old South to anyone.

Wonderful course even though greens were just punched. Staff was very friendly, even waved rider fee for our wives since it wasn't overly busy. Will definitely be back to play when greens are back in good shape. Hole 7 and 8 could be the most difficult PAR 3's I've ever played

This is a perfectly nice South Carolina/North Florida type of course. Unfortunately, it was recently aerated with heavy sand. But that’s a point in time issue and GN fairly warned. (It seems like all area courses aerate around this same time.) There’s water but a lot of room to avoid it on most holes—not overly tight. A couple of interesting holes out toward the marshes, including target landing areas to avoid. Rates more reasonable than HHI courses for similar experience.

Played early AM. Teed off first group at 8:04 am on hole 10 with my foursome. Made the turn at 2:10 and the first tee was clear. Never really saw a soul. Like we were playing our own course although they were busy. Some beautiful picturesque holes on the marshland. A bit of target golf but made it very fun to play. Overall a fair layout that let you score well if you were hitting reasonable, not perfect, shots. Had been a while since I had played there and I was pleasantly impressed with the staff, course

Layout, Course conditions, pace of play, and value for money, especially in the HHI area. Will definitely play there again.

We played early June right after both aerating and sand dressing the greens. It was terrible. Course was great, layout was good with the exception of a few goofy holes, but the greens were so bad that they were almost unplayable.

I really enjoyed this outing with my wife and friends. The course was in good shape with true greens, while challenging very payable for my 16 handicap. Definitely on my list for my next visit to Hilton Head.
