The Course at Wente Vineyards

The course was good. The only down side was the greens. Very unpredictable. They were fast and slow. It ended up getting windy but, still had fun. The fairways were great. The course condition was good overall. I would definitely play here again.

Enjoyed my round but was expecting conditions to be nicer. A lot of GUR and greens were bumpy and patchy.

I have seen this course pop up as a hot deal now and again and thought it looked like one I would like to play. Finally used some of my $10/month credits to check it out. Picked the hottest day of the year (wish those credits did not require the 3 day advance).

Course was pretty empty, so pace of play was great and I got to really enjoy it. Very beautiful even though it was dry. Elevated tee shots are a blast. Green rolled true, but so hard there were few ball marks. Several risk-reward holes that you can't really play intelligently until you have seen all the landing spots at least once. Same with greens that are hard to know where to leave shots on a first loop. Even though it was triple digit heat, I had a great time playing this course.

I love playing Wente. For some reason I always play well there. The problem is the price. We have many excellent courses, including Poppy Ridge and Callippe near by which are far more reasonably priced. Wente charges close to double the price without being twice is good. I decided to give into convenience Sunday and pay the extra price, but if I had my druthers, I’d have gone somewhere more reasonably priced.

Love this course. Can't beat Hot Deal rates on GN. Staff is very professional and accommodating. Always a pleasure. Course is in fantastic condition. Pace is normally great. The course is not too intimidating for beginners. Blue/Gold tee boxes are amazing. Everyone should experience this course in the Bay Area. Highly recommend.

Most relaxing most amazing views. I mean who doesn’t like looking and rolling vineyards, soaring hawks and perfect blue sky’s!!! It’s almost perfect! The only knock I will give is that it is too pricey. I get it that you pay for what you get but they could lower the price by about 15% and then I would give it 5 stars ⭐️….. but if you get creative, IE GolfNow you can get a better deal. Not only is the golf amazing but the food at both the restaurant and the quick grab and go is top notch!! If you haven’t been to Wente and you live in the Bay Area you are missing out! It’s a must visit course!!!!

Great course - lots of tee box options to match players’ abilities, course is in great shape, greens are fast and roll true. Playing late in the afternoon - you will get very windy conditions - making several of the holes play much longer than their true distance. Starter was very friendly - it would have been nice to have a drink cart or 1/2 way house open at the turn - but probably don’t have either of those mid week and late in the day. Overall - great course - highly recommend to anyone visiting the San Jose /San Fran area as I am.

Way way way overpriced !

Greens were in terrible condition , recently aerated , like playing plinko on the price is right . Must’ve fixed a dozen ball marks on every green , apparently nobody is told to fix them

Layout is a little confusing in some places and there are a couple odd designed holes , however ……

The views are definitely the draw here . The course winds through a vineyard with dramatic elevation changes . Also the sand in the bunkers is close to perfect . What ever ya do bring a wind breaker and some warm cloths . I’ll visit the winery again but not the golf course , it’s not worth the price tag

Now I know why they rave about Wente sooo much. Incredibly difficult and demanding each shots needed to execute that makes me go back again hopefully make a better showing. It is sooo much fun and awesome views from all parts of the course. I definitely need to go asap. C ya Wente…

Wente is a roly poly layout with lots of undulations and a few deep drops to keep it interesting. Plays longer than the tees due to the wind kicking up in the afternoons. Fairways are in excellent shape. Greens were heavily sanded so hard to tell what was going on there. Not a lot of water but a little tight so bring some extra balls.

The course was lovely. It’s not a long course, but it is challenging. Definitely more challenging for men than women. Nothing to complain about! Everything was on time. Pace of play felt slow, but we still finished in excellent time for a Saturday.
