The Course at Wente Vineyards

10/10 course review. Second time playing here. The course conditions are amazing. However this time I played two of the greens were a bit disappointing (patches of dirt). Cashier gave me a bit of attitude. He must not like me. 3 incidents of clashing with him 1) he says I can get a cart 30 mins prior to tee time (usually it’s 1 hr and another staff member okayed me for 1 hr and ended up getting it 1 hr prior to tee time) 2) said in a resenting voice he doesn’t accept cash when I asked to pay for $5 golf balls. Ended up using credit card. 3) he just rubbed me off in the wrong way, he wasn’t even at the pro shop when I entered I had to wait 5-10mins roaming the shop before he entered asking if he could help me. Other staff members were very polite and made sure I got my cart and arrived to my first tee box on time. I love the pole idea of going in and out of the fairways. I would come back for the scenery, course conditions (-2 greens), pace of play, and accommodations of some of the staff members.

Overall course was in excellent shape except the greens need work. They were rough and bumpy. Excellent views and saw wild turkeys on the 2nd hole.

I love Wente but the greens are so bad. There are fungus / dead spots all over.

Conditions were terrible. Each green on the front nine was worse than the one before it. I kept thinking “it has to get better soon”.......it did not. Back nine was playable, better greens, but for $169 you expect better than whatever the heck I just experienced. Very disappointed overall.

I had many good memories playing at wente before.

But I had a very bad experience at wente this time.

When I reserve the tee time at wente through Golf Now, I expected a comfortable play driving cart on fairways enjoying the scenery.

I never expect the cart would be cart path only for the whole front 9 holes.

I never expect the green is aired with sand.

I never expect the play should be stopped when 7:30PM while the sun-set time is still remaining.

I should not select this course if I knew above things.

Lot of dry spots on the greens , spoil the overall experience, particularly when the fairways are so well maintained

Sanded greens led to a ragged game. Greens on some holes showed fungus or general deterioration. Course is otherwise in great shape

Not really a fair assessment as the greens were aerated with excessive sand, but the rest of the course was in great condition. Love this course but $120 for a course you can’t putt on was hard to swallow.

They just punched and sanded all of the greens & tees otherwise the course was fantastic!

Beautiful course that is a ton of fun and kept in immaculate condition. It is a on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for!

Enjoyable layout, fairways in good condition, great views and carts up Lombard Street to start the back nine was different. The greens however were not in good condition, it will be aerated tomorrow, will be keen to revisit in a few weeks.
