About
Located less than an hour east of San Francisco, the Course at Wente Vineyards sprawls across the lush, rolling hills of Livermore Valley. Greg Norman carefully crafted the golf course, creating one of northern California's most challenging layouts. The course incorporates three different landscapes: woodlands, grassy meadows, and mature vineyards. All throughout the golf course though, golfers will be faced with dramatic elevation changes that cause tricky uneven lies but that also means there are panoramic views to be enjoyed on almost every hole. The fairways and landing areas are narrow and require good club management. The prevailing winds add another challenging element to the course. The Course at Wente Vineyards' back nine holes are more demanding with the par 3s being especially memorable. It is a tough but fair round that will reward proper club selection and strategy.

Wente was great
From the lush fairways to the smooth greens everything was in great condition. Pace of play was exactly 4 hours. Great time, highly recommend.
Top course in area
Great challenging course. Elevation changes and shot shaping make this course both challenging and captivating. The condition was pristine. Will definitely be back!
Soggy
Despite no rain for many weeks, the course was surprisingly soggy in many areas. I hit one drive that almost plugged. Many areas left intentionally overgrown.
Golfer
Staff got so angry because we left for the tee box, upon arrival we met two youngster whom were new golfer so they let us go first. Staffer came after us in first fairway and showed his anger them left that why we came up. There were no players or attendants. He could have said nicely, my partner wanted to go back and cancel but I insisted him to ignore.
Nice course but significantly overpriced
I really enjoy this course, but avoid it often simply because the cost to play makes it a poor value when compared to other courses in the area. Poppy Ridge and Callippe are good/very good courses near by costing more than $50 less per round.
Always challenging
Great golf course with amazing views of the Livermore Valley Vineyards
They do not have a cart person
They have halfway house, but always closed.
Wente course review
Course in great shape except sand traps need more sand underlayment exposed on a lot traps and rocks and gravel exposed also! Great course!
Great time
Course was in great shape and made for a fun day. Greens are best in the Bay Area.
They allow members to play a 5some
Pace of play was really bad . They wouldnt let us go past the 5 some. The 5 some were members and i guess if your a member then you can bend the rules. The round took 5.5 hours for us. Course is nice but be willing to stay for some time if you come here . Conditions are good and staff but marshall wouldnt help us on speed of play.
