Located less than an hour east of San Francisco, the Course at Wente Vineyards sprawls across the lush, rolling hills of Livermore Valley. Greg Norman carefully crafted the golf course, creating one of northern California's most challenging layouts. The course incorporates three different landscapes: woodlands, grassy meadows, and mature vineyards. All throughout the golf course though, golfers will be faced with dramatic elevation changes that cause tricky uneven lies but that also means there are panoramic views to be enjoyed on almost every hole. The fairways and landing areas are narrow and require good club management. The prevailing winds add another challenging element to the course. The Course at Wente Vineyards' back nine holes are more demanding with the par 3s being especially memorable. It is a tough but fair round that will reward proper club selection and strategy.

Most Underrated course in the bay area

This course is simply beautiful and fun to play. It is a bit of a drive but the views and ambiance of the course is unparalleled outside of the coastal courses. Several holes are on the vineyard and many have views of the whole property.

The course is well maintained but my only gripe is there is no marshall.

Love this place!

Finished at 4:30. I know, a winter weekday and close to closing. Sure would have been nice to get a bite to eat. Thus the one star. However I love this golf course. Always a challenge and always 100%. Once spring hits the patio will be open and I will revise my rating. Great food and the patio is on the 18th. Great for side bets for the guys coming in!

slow round at wente

i love the course but the pace of play was bad. we booked a twight round and did not expect to finish. we did, however, expect to play mote than 12 hiles in 3.5 hours.

I treat to enjoy

My son and I played here and really enjoyed a round. It was a cold start being November but the sun came out and pars were achieved. I even dropped one in for a birdie. Challenging course yes, but playing from the whites really made this one fun.

High tee box and fast greens

The course condition is well maintained from the rough to fairway. The greens are fast but other golfers please fix your divots. There’s a lot of elevated tee box so you kinda need to adjust your shot. The layout are challenging and a lot of soft white sand bunkers are guarding the fairways and around the green. So this course make you to plans all your shots and if you think you can get to the green think twice.

By far one of the pricey course in the Bay Area but it worth the green fee. The pace of play is a little slower because there’s a lot of people looking for their ball. Also, pack a lot of water since this located deep in Livermore and it can get really hot.
