Located less than an hour east of San Francisco, the Course at Wente Vineyards sprawls across the lush, rolling hills of Livermore Valley. Greg Norman carefully crafted the golf course, creating one of northern California's most challenging layouts. The course incorporates three different landscapes: woodlands, grassy meadows, and mature vineyards. All throughout the golf course though, golfers will be faced with dramatic elevation changes that cause tricky uneven lies but that also means there are panoramic views to be enjoyed on almost every hole. The fairways and landing areas are narrow and require good club management. The prevailing winds add another challenging element to the course. The Course at Wente Vineyards' back nine holes are more demanding with the par 3s being especially memorable. It is a tough but fair round that will reward proper club selection and strategy.

Beautiful course even on a cold and windy wintery day.

I always enjoy playing this course when the opportunity arrises. The regular green fees are steep for me but I was able to get a last minute good rate online. I did have an issue with my golf cart shutting down because the GPS showed it on the fairway when I was actually on the cart path. I called the pro shop and said they were experiencing an issue with the GPS after the recent storm. The gril was always a great place to relax and eat but has not been the same since COVID.

Beautiful setting for course in excellent condition

Wente is a wonderful course to play. Situated in the foothills it has spectacular views with many holes lined by vineyards. For mid-February, it is in remarkably good shape. Play it and see for yourself.

Most Underrated course in the bay area

This course is simply beautiful and fun to play. It is a bit of a drive but the views and ambiance of the course is unparalleled outside of the coastal courses. Several holes are on the vineyard and many have views of the whole property.

The course is well maintained but my only gripe is there is no marshall.

Love this place!

Finished at 4:30. I know, a winter weekday and close to closing. Sure would have been nice to get a bite to eat. Thus the one star. However I love this golf course. Always a challenge and always 100%. Once spring hits the patio will be open and I will revise my rating. Great food and the patio is on the 18th. Great for side bets for the guys coming in!

slow round at wente

i love the course but the pace of play was bad. we booked a twight round and did not expect to finish. we did, however, expect to play mote than 12 hiles in 3.5 hours.
