Bummed
Didn't know they would let us book a tee time when they had a jr tournament. Been really looking forward to playing out here, it had been a while. Very hard to find parking. Crowded as jrs parents were all over the place taking carts and trying to get their kids situated. Practice areas were overcrowded. Couldn't chip, putt, or hit range. Started on stonehouse 9. Greens were still recovering from maintence. Still rolled and played well, but few putts were knocked offline by the small aerification marks still healing. Twosome ahead of us played from the tips, and neither player was better than a 20 handicap. Two balls off the tee. 100 practice swings, only to duff it 20 yards. No marshal. Just a starter. Didn't make twosome or singles join to benefit pace of play. I don't normally mind playing separate, but when it's that slow, groups would be better off as 3 or 4 somes. Cart girl drove down first hole instead of driving backwards around the course. We just left clubhouse, why would we buy something from cart girl on first hole? Forgot how loud the freeway is while golfing here. Windy, but expected in the afternoon here. Creek greens in better shape. Definitely easier than stone house 9. I might play here again, if it was much more affordable, and I would call ahead of time to make sure no tourney. Overall a frustrating day.
Greens
Greens on Oaks were punched recently, maybe 2-3 weeks, but roll nice. Had a good time, course is fun and challenging.
Good course but slow
the temecula creek courses have a good layout and difficulty range. creek course is easiest, oaks more difficult and stone most difficult. conditions are good. greens were very well maintained and most were excellent; some needed work with signs that they were getting repairs. slow pace of play is a problem; marshals do not enforce keeping up with the group in front and groups behind too often hit into a leading group. of all the courses in the J.C. Players Club, temecula creek is the standout for slow play and players hitting into other groups.
great and challaging course
was a great course, had great time, course was in great condition
Excellent Course Conditions
This was my first visit to Temecula Creek Inn Resort golf course. I played the Creek and Oak 9's. The course was beautifully maintained (fairways & greens). The only negative comment I have is that we found the green side bunkers, particularly on the Creek course to be compacted, little sand in them. The Creek is easy and very forgiving, a typical resort course and great for less skilled golfers or couples golf. The Oaks was a bit more challenging with more elevation changes, a little less forgiving. Pace of play was outstanding, played 18 holes in less than 4 hours. I was a single paired up with a very nice couple, weather was perfect and it was an enjoyable day. Looking forward to going back and playing the third nine hole course - Stone House.
Don't pass up
This course rewards the straight shooter. The beautiful tree lined fairways will penalize you just enough to remind you to keep that fade under control. This is not your typical driver and iron course. 3 woods and long irons are key to keep from going off the fairway on the subtle doglegs.
I really liked the course. They take good care of their tee boxes. Fairways and greens are excellent and that's because the golfers who play here take care of the course. Almost every fairway divot was filled with sand. If you play here take care of the course because everyone else does. The staff was very professional and helpful. I will definitely play here again.
Beautiful Course
Beautiful course! Honestly felt like I was back in Michigan. Well kept course! Nothing hard, straight forward course, was a bit bland towards the end of the round.
Very scenic and challenging
Played on a Tuesday and was paired with a very friendly member, whose knowledge of the course proved helpful. Every staff member I dealt with was helpful, professional, and accommodating. Creek nine had been aerated on the 12th, and I was made aware of this prior to booking. Even so, course was still in excellent condition. We played the Oaks on the back nine, and the conditions were perfect. This is a challenging course but well worth the price. I would definitely play again, was a great afternoon.
GOOD DAY OF GOLF
Played late in the evening since it was my first time. Better on the pocket book while experimenting with a new course. Pace of play was the only complaint I would have. there was a group of must have been beginners in front of us and it took an our and a half to finish the last three holes. Of course all that waiting puts a strain on your golf game, mine anyhow. I had no momentum after that and the fun meter had pegged. I'd say if you are a decent player that wants a moderate to fast pace of play, I recommend you go in the am hoping none of the pace killers are out there. I
It was a lovely course in good condition. lots of undulations all around but the greens were not as bad as the fairways. Greens were a bit slow which allows for more error which was good. I'd play it again but will go earlier in the day.
Great views and excellent conditions.
This was our second 18 hole round since arriving in San Diego. Contrary to our first round that was at a course that wasn't able to water due to the draught, this course was lush and green. The greens weren't exceptionally fast, but the were probably rolling out around a nine on the stump meter. Because they have their own well, everything was very green and they even had a few waterfalls for scenic amenities. The restaurant features a signature Bloody Mary that was very good, as were their sandwiches. This is definitely a course that I will go back to.
GOOD TIMES
THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAD PLAYED THE TCI COURSES, AND I WAS PLEASED WITH MY TIME OUT THERE , WE PLAYED CREEK/OAK COURSES , IT STARTED OFF ALITTLE SLOW (WITH PLAY) BUT WHEN WE MADE THE TURN THE FOURSOME IN FRONT OF US LET US PLAY THROUGH. FROM THEN ON IT WENT SMOOTHLEY. I WOULD LIKE TO GO BACK BUT ONLY IF THEY DROP THE PRICES.
Always a please to play TCI !!!
One of the best maintained and picturesque golf course. the weather was good the pace of play was good.
the greens are pretty fast and have quite a bit of break. Oaks 9 is punched it would be great if they indicated that in golfnow. some people might ding for that, but other than the punched greens on Oak the course is in fabulous condition. Go Play!!!!
Ungodly slow pace of play...
Hire some course marshalls! It was one of the slowest rounds I have ever played (thousands) and no one was there to speed up play! Ruined a gorgeous course with excellent conditions. It's a crapshoot if you go play...you better get out early or you may not finish!
TCI
Course was in pretty good condition for the most part. Only one tee box could use some work but overall real satisfied with the grounds crew. For the price it just about fits it worth. If to change anything maybe drop down $10 or so per tee time as the layout is not overly complicated. In regards to the layout though green all around with kept up greens. I would return even at the current price.
Great course
I am not a seasoned golfer, husband has been giving me lessons for the last 3 or 4 years and takes me to Temecula Creek regularly. Have only played Stonehouse once because it plays too far above my ability. Entire course/s are very well maintained. Love the Oaks above all. The fairways amongst the gently rolling hills are breath takingly beautiful no matter the time of day. Great staff and amenIties and would definitely recommend.
Great Course
Great challenging course with up and down fairways. Greens are in great condition too!
Gotta Like Trees
Most holes are tree lined. If you are off the fairway, chances are you are behind a tree. Good practice for hitting shots with trees in your way.
Temecula Creek and INN
Played twice, the second day, it was then I bought a book of 8 plays for $249. The ambience of this golf
course is incredible. The dinner in the restaurant was fantastic!
I am going back in one month for 2 rounds and an overnight stay
Why god invented golf!
What a great day and round of golf. Nobody who's ever watched me play would ever confuse me with a real golfer however, I've played all over the world and I'd stack this course up with any! Fairways very nice, Greens firm and fast so watch out and the second cuts are about 3.5" to 4" so hit em straight or you'll be chopping cabbage with your irons! There's a few Tee boxes on the back nine that need some real attention by the keepers however, the rest of the course was a real honor to play on. Have fun and hit em straight! Carl.
