About
The golf course at the San Marcos Golf Resort boasts an impressive list of past players that includes presidents and celebrities. The golf course is nestled on a property in downtown Chandler that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Although it has a desert landscape, the course is still lush with a canal that runs through it, a lake, and plush Bermuda grass greens, the former two creating water hazards that come into play on several holes. The San Marcos Golf Resort course is challenging with each hole having at least three bunkers. The two most difficult holes on the golf course are two lengthy par 4s, the fourth and the 10th.

Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

Golfer Reviews
Nice course
The course layout and scenery is beautiful especially the back nine. Conditions were great and the greens rolled true. I would definitely play it again if I’m in the area.
Tee boxes were very poor. on course bathrooms were very poor.
A regular in my golf rotation
3rd time playing San Marcos and it remains one of the most consistent courses in the Valley across the board. Low handicappers might get bored with the layout but still challenging enough to work on your game and gave fun. Staff is great across the board and the bar area is quaint and food is good; try the fish tacos. Definitely a keeper
Will come again!
We loved San Marcos. Wide welcoming fairways with water hazards and sand traps upping the challenge. Everything was in great shape. It was very busy but tee times appropriately spaced. Price was very reasonable.
Average
Older course. Average condition for the price. Can play other courses in the area that are better maintained for about the same price. Staff was awesome. No drink cart available and pace of play was a little slow for a Monday.
65 dollars for that course?
Very disappointed. Course was not in good shape. Pace of play was super slow. Ranger sent out twosome, then foursome then two some and then another twosome. Had guys hitting up on us.
Poor management.
Will not be playing there again.
Older layout with some improvements
Greens held shots. Played earlier and greens were wet so slow but nice.
Great to get out
Although there’s large trees, it’s pretty much straight & open with wide fairways. Teed off at 7:50am & 2 some played 18 in 3 hrs, 15min
