About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Worst course ever played in AZ
I have never complained about a course in AZ but this course was soooooooooo bad it was funny! Dirt fairways.......dirt ruff.......dry to the bone!........white tees positioned like a par three course? You had no idea where to hit from tee boxes...... Greens at best fair.....played charity event and people who ran the event looked embarrassed at the facility.......burger after was raw uncooked....beans were almost like a prison soup.....lady behind counter made sure that we understood that refills of soda were only free today like I was ever coming back there to play.......truly worst course I have ever played.......they should really be embarrassed of there facilties......would go to castle and coasters and play miniature golf before I ever spend a dollar at this place.....took me an hour to clean my bag and shoes with all the dust and muck!!! Felt bad for cart girl she was really nice and also looked embarrassed after seeing our reaction to course.
Great location
Always enjoy playing here. The course is very well maintained.
99 degrees .........
99 degrees and they did not have a beverage/food cart working the course. Ran out of sandwiches at the clubhouse. Lately seems to be the standard of this course!!!
golfing with friends
Tres Rios Gc was very playable the only bad thing about course there was no beverage cart person they said they were under staffed.
Moderate course but slow play
Overall the course was not in too bad of shape. It's what you expect from an 18 dollar green fee. The pace of play was horrible. I booked a tee time for the so called " fast play promotion " , but they started me on the back as a single behind a 4some. It was frustrating. This is not a single rider friendly course.
Tres Rios
Course was in good shape, the rough a little longer than usual, due to some rain we've had recently. Greens rolled fair.
Lots of trees tell you to better stay in the fairway, and if you do, scoring is going to be good.
only problem I had> my Golf/Buddy GPS had problems finding the course. Manual search impossible, as for some reason course still runs under former name.
good value
gps on carts very helpful restrooms need serious work very respectable for price folks that expect considerably more for the price are living in lala land!
This course is terrible
The worst golf course I've played in my life. It is diffccile to find the holes and fairways are planted. This course should disappear from the landscape.
hit it strait
this course gives the opportunity to work on your shot shaping with dog-legs both right and left. it can be a fun course but sometimes challenging
Great for beginners and experienced golfers
Pretty and scenic parkland style golf course. Crooked hitters and beginners can almost always play their next shot, unlike many of the desert target style courses.
Love this course
Played it many times.
It's 5 minutes from home so obviously I play it a lot. I'm a Canadian and own a house here. I come to Az. for the heat. It's off season for the locals so the place is wonderfully NOT busy. Bang for your golfing buck is awesome.
the course had a tournament going on on they were playing worst ball who does that going from one different hole to the other I mean come on who does
Never play again horrible overbooked course had tournament going on had to go from par 3 to par 7 to par 9 rate the way they run the course a zero
Poorly laid out course
This course is alright if you want a quick play and don't care where you play.
Great course for the price
Fun course good condition fast greens but a very fun course
Good Experience
I haven't played here for a while. Nice improvement by removing the underbrush. The greens were a little disappointing, but overall we had a enjoyable day.
it is what it is.
Nice course. As easy or hard as you want to make it depending on the tee you choose to play. Course in good condition . Not perfect but not bad. Was disappointed at the pace of play. It could have been quicker if marshals were present to keep things moving.
nice course
The biggest problem I have with this course is the pin placement. Many of the pins are placed on severe slants on the greens, really uncalled for.
