Junior National Golf Club
About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Poor at any price
Very poor conditions, I keep giving this course a change to impress me. It never does. There are a few ing going for it: Cheap, good club house and not busy.
Review
This course was great for me .i liked each hole . I'll return and play there again for sure.
Do not waste your time or money
Pro shop staff was cold and abrupt and unfriendly.
Course is in terrible shape. Lots of bare patches on greens and fairways. Holes all over the fairways and tee boxes. Dust blowing everywhere. Course is poorly marked. I would never play there again.
Tres Rios Golf Course
I played this course 3 times, 2/22, 2/24, and 2/25, all rounds were booked through golfnow.com. It was a nice course, nothing fancy, a few greens were in need of attention with much needed maintenance, but overall it was a good value for the money. The bunkers had very little sand and were extremely hard.
Nice course, inconvenient location
The course was well maintained and had a good mix of difficulty and fun.
Tres Rios
The most dramatic difference from the last time I played here several months ago was the absence of gopher holes. The staff told us they removed 1,300 gophers and closed the holes. That made the course more enjoyable to say the least. The greens and fairways were in good condition. The rough included a number of places where there was bare dirt which was hard to hit from. But all in all I think we got decent value for our money.
not pleased
Tee offs rough, fairways holey and too narrow, greens rough, too fast and full of ground borrowing animal holes. No t going back.
Fun course
I would only ask that next time there is a huge back up and the round take 5 1/2 hours that maybe a ranger to speed up play would be nice. Everything else was excellent.
Tres Rios in the Winter
Like many courses during the winter in Phoenix, this course had nice green fairways and fast, true greens. The rough and desert areas were fairly dead. Water comes into play on three holes, but is very manageable. Be careful of the water on your right on the 2nd hole. The fairways are very wide with trees scattered throughout. It looks and plays like a "muni" course. The staff was very friendly and the overall experience was pleasant.
playing for fun
This is a good course. No homes lining the fairway. No worries about hitting a house. The course has been taken care of the last month making it more fun to play. The staff are great. Lands keepers are courteous and move out of your way and get equipment behind trees if possible. I will play there a lot more this year.
Fair layout tough greens.
Fairway and greens in good condition. Walkable course.
good layout, poor condition
I play here once a year hoping it will get better, don't waste your money
Great desert golf course
One of our normal course rotations. Have done a great job of decreasing the gopher holes. Fairways are in fantastic condition.
Poor Conditions
This was the worse course we have played in many years. The course has gone down hill over the past years and I believe it has hit rock bottom. Will not play this course again.
dusty fairways
I found the golf course dry and dusty, the greens were dry and unpredictable
Terrible course
The worse course i have played in pheonix aera. Gopher holes, greens very hard and need work. I would like money back if I could get it back!
Poor conditions
On a cool overcast morning, played course with 13-year old son. Booked on golfnow but gave me junior rate! Nice. Got off earlier than scheduled. That's as far as good goes. Course in horrible condition. Tee boxes chewed up, little grass on them. Greens were hard and extremely fast, rough was either sandy weeds or overgrown dead long weeds.
A very nice course.
I loved the course, had a great day. A little more expensive then I normally like to pay.
