Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links
About
This beautiful facility is located on 270 pristine acres at the North end of the Grand Strand. Blessed with a unique topography and large mature trees, the course meanders down to the inter-coastal waterway with scenic vistas to distract you at every turn.
This 6900 yard Clyde Johnston design is owned and managed by the same group that developed the fabled Heather Glen links and the service you have grown to expect from this organization is evident the moment you drive up to the clubhouse. Give this course a try the next time you vist the Myrtle Beach area. You won't be disappointed!

Great course, I will do it again
They had just sanded the greens so the timing may not have been great for us. This is a course that is not driver friendly. But it was a lot of fun to play. I would definitely do it again.
Great course.
I booked this course on Golf Now and almost immediately got a call saying the greens were recently punched and offered to let me cancel. I thought that was very considerate. I decided to play anyway and I’m glad I did. It’s a great course and several holes have beautiful water views. The greens weren’t even that bad. Overall I was very happy with my round. The Golf Now deal price was great.
Great Course
Course is great even if the greens were aerated. Which they did let you know up front when booking tee time.
Great course, great views
The course was in great shape, except for the aerated greens, but it was still a joy to play. Great views of the intercoastal waterway.
Will play again.
Best course in Myrtle Beach area
From a 75 year old man who has played almost every course in the Myrtle Beach area, including many long gone, I can attest that Glen Dornoch is without question the most beautifully aesthetic, most challenging (while fair), and managed impeccably in all records.
It also has some of the most unique holes anywhere that will astound you, finishing with an 18th that is second to none. Wendell
Disappointing Round
This course has one of the best layouts in the area and this was a return trip for us on our large yearly golf trip. Unfortunately this time around it was a disappointment. We played it same two two years ago and everything was excellent. This time however, a much different story. The Tee boxes and fairways were hit or miss. The greens were a huge miss. Many bald spots, 50% of the greens were mud vs. grass, and several greens had substantial decease on them and those parts of the greens were unplayable. Considering a great layout, and what they charge for a round, we expect more.
Excellent Staff for an excellent Course
I wish EVERYONE'S staff was as good as this one. Played for the 1st time on vacation and they treated me like an old friend. TERRIFIC! Easy check-in. Gentleman grabbed my bag and put it on the cart swiftly. When it was my time starter asked me if I wanted to go with the 3 others who were signed in for my time or go out by myself. I elected the latter. I was filled in with instructions and given a guide booklet. He recommended an appropriate tee for my skill level and a few hints on some holes. Once I was playing, between 2 foursomes, play went along and the ranger came by 3-4 times to make sure I was satisfied and enjoyed my round. What was there not to enjoy? Great course,in great shape, and a large variety to different holes. The ones near the waterway were challenging, just like I was told. Fantastic day and they get my highest recommendation. Can't wait to visit MB again and return to this venue. Thank you
A Grand Slam!
What a beautiful course. So challenging yet so charming. I'd say it was a home run, but grand slam gives you a better idea of the impact it had on us. Highly recommend playing this course. The members might not like me spreading the word, but a Must Play!
Beautiful course but very tough
Glad the carts have a GPS to get a layout of the hole. The course is beautiful with the waterways. No homes on the course which made it nice. Will definitely play again.
Scenic
We really enjoyed our round
There are a number of beautiful, scenic holes. The course is is great shape and the greens are nice. Our only critique is there are several holes that are “cut up”
Layout is beautiful, awful pace of play
The conditions were good but a few of the bunkers were just dirt. The Layout is difficult but a lot of fun. Pace of play was terrible. Ranger did come around to inform that the course was just packed said he is doing his best.
Started our round on back nine which is more challenging than the front. Pace of play was great. Pleasant layout with beautiful waterway views.
Challenging and worth it
Selected Glen Dornoch on Golf Pass without knowing anything about it and was quite impressed. Friendly staff when I showed up, hit a few balls at the so-so driving range. Nothing special so I was kind of wondering about the course but it turned out fine. I was matched up with two great guys and we played the back 9 first, due to some sort of tournament. I was warned the back 9 had some seriously tough holes and that certainly proved true. All in all a very good experience and a terrific layout (did I say there are tough holes?)
Conservative Approach
As a reasonably long senior player, I would play from the whites next time to avoid having to use 5 iron to 5 wood layups from many of the gold tees. I would probably score as well or better and receive the GHIN benefit of a higher slope rating. As a first time player here, I will definitely pay more attention to the guidance in the course guide that comes with the scorecard the next time I play here, but use the cart screen over the guide maps for each hole.
Glen Dornoch
Great layout. Not just about banging the ball you have to think. Some areas should have been marled GUR.
