North Golf Course at Sun City
About
Located just south of Grand Avenue in Sun City, Sun City North Golf Course's trademarks are the doglegs and large trees that are present throughout the course. It has many other challenges to offer including plush, elevated greens and numerous sand bunkers. Placid ponds also create water hazards that come into play on two holes. The well-maintained course is relatively flat with plenty of shade, making it enjoyable to walk. The Sun City North Golf Course facility has several amenities including a putting green and chipping area. There is also a fully stocked pro shop and full service grill and deli.

Surprising Good Condition
Last minute find on GolfNow for $18. Did not expect much as I had never played this course before. Was pleasantly surprised to find very well maintained fairways with green grass, and excellent greens. Do not understand other's comment on 'green's not holding'. I hit long to wedge iron and fairway woods onto the green and they held very well. Putting was great (I like slower greens and these find my liking). Despite burying a shot to the green into a green side bunker and taking a triple, I shot 40 on the first nine and was two over on the back nine. I'm 78 yrs young so it was a pretty good round for me. Would play it again and have already recommended it to others. Played round with one ball.
WOW!!!!!!
What a waste of time & money.
I'm not just talking about the greenfees
Impossiable to hold a green, horrendous.
Only positive thing I can say is that the club house & staff are nice
apparently this is where the money was spent.
First time played
The course overall is in good shape. The tee boxes could use some work, no grass. The greens were excellent. The fairways were nice. The sand was like the beach. Should have brought my suit I was in a bunch of them. Employees and patrons were all fist class to this newbie. Would like to play again.
Course in Great Condition
Had a very good experience at the course. My game was off a bit but the course was in great condition and the greens are in excellent shape. Staff was fantastic and the others in my foursome really liked it also. This is a great value and golf experience.
Thank you SSN for a great day and pace of play.
5somes
I can not believe or understand how you can have 5somes on a golf course in a retirement community where you have 60 to 90 year olds playing golf and are by far the majority of the players. Other than that a very nice course to play and always in great shape.
Pleasant surprise
Played SC North for the first time and was pleasantly surprised with the course conditions and the quality of the layout. The greens were especially good and very challenging due to the numerous undulations. There is a nice variety of holes and the par 3's are good and offer a variety of shots from wedges to hybrids.
We played in 3 hours which added to the enjoyment of the course.
NICE COURSE-SIMILAR TO SC SOUTH
HAD A GOOD DAY OUT AT SC NORTH COURSE. PAIRED UP WITH ANOTHER 2SOME AND WE ENJOYED THE DAY. COURSE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE FOR THE WINTER-GREENS IN GREAT SHAPE-
Paradisical
I couldn't have been matched up w/anyone more awesome then Chris and Phil.
The course was deserted on this cool, windy day.
Nothing unusual about this Sun City course, perhaps a little longer than most. Very fair all the way around.
First time playing the course and enjoyed the experience.
Course was in good shape for this time of the year. Had a career round.
Good value
Played Tueseday afternoon, got round in 4 hrs. Course in good shape and gives excellent value for money.
I'll probably never play the Sun City municipal courses again
They were booking groups of five, and they were booking them seven minutes apart. Obviously, they fell behind. They called my 1:07 group at 1:25, and the other four I was supposed to be playing with got tired of waiting and went off out of turn. I was standing on the first tee by myself with about 20 people (who were all late on their tee times) yelling at me, and I had no idea what to do. I just about said screw it, but I tried to stick it out.
The guy in the clubhouse said to join up with the group in front of me, which was already a fivesome. Playing as a fivesome is an unacceptable form of chaos for me. A sixsome was just plain ridiculous. And we were still waiting.
Half of our group left after number 9. I don't blame them. I decided to try to stick it out after that, since we would only be a foursome. But the only thing that changed was how long we were waiting on each tee box. At 5:00, it became obvious to me that we weren't going to beat sunset, as we were only on the 13th tee box. I decided to call it quits. I found the lollygagging group on 15. There were five groups playing that hole, and there was no one on 16, 17, or 18.
I refuse to play on a golf course that intentionally books five-somes. I've played this course five or six times in the past, but I will definitely not be back.
Good value for the money.
Just coming out of overseeding. Cart path and rough only. Be careful of rough as we lost a couple balls just off the fairway.
Second time playing this course.
Course is in excellent shape after overseeding was completed/
A good course to play
I only rated the course conditions as poor due to the fact the greens had been scalped due to overseeding starting the following day.
Play it
I have not played this course after the renovation until now. fairways are in great shape, the greens are absolutely perfect they roll true and are fast bunkers have sand in them unlike other Sun City courses
Hate surprises
Tired of booking time only to find course in horrible shape. Greens were so recently sanded that the excess in the cups wouldn't allow the flags to stand up. Many areas were partially mown leaving high spots where balls couldn't be located. Looked forward to playing recently renovated course...couldn't believe how bad it was already.
great time n a very nice course
First time playing this course since it reopened after remodeling. the course played very well and somewhat challenging holes.
Looking forward to playing there again.
you get what you pay for
Played with the wife and another couple, only paid $10 so you get the conditions you expect for that. Course layout is fine but fairways and greens needed some water really bad. Had a good day, weather was fantastic and the staff were friendly. Can't complain for the price but greens were ridiculous.
