About
The Sun City South Golf Course is normally a private club but during the summer months, public play is allowed. The course has a traditional layout with four sets of teeboxes for a variety of different golfing options, which allow golfers to work on a range of different handicaps. The golf course has a fair share of challenges with several sand bunkers and plenty of trees scattered throughout. There are also out-of-bounds stakes providing more difficulty. Water hazards come into play on some holes as well. The Sun City South Golf Course facility has a putting green and chipping area for golfers to use in addition to the course.

I played this course at 1.22 pm.The pace was very slow.Way too many five-somes .Took 4 1/2-5hrs.The greens were bumpy,long and slow
Pace of play was disappointing
After beginning the with a reasonable pace of play the round slowed down considerably as our twosome followed a fivesome ahead of us who wondered down and back of the fairway with no regard for the golfers following them. It was a frustrating 4.5+ hour round in the middle of the week.
pace of play
To many fivesoms 2 in front of our foursome one behind 5 hrs to play 18. Sun City needs to do something about to many fivesoms on their courses. Changes need to be done or they will be losing customers.
Suncity south
A four star rating is to generous. The course itself is challenging with many traps in driving areas off the tee. Precise driving or good course management is necessary. The disappointing part are the greens. Extremely slow. Like they had not been mowed for some time. Our whole group was frustrated by the greens. Would not recommend this course as to many others are in the with better conditions.
Make you feel welcome
The course was at the level of difficulty I expected and was in fair condition with several brown areas as one finds in the AZ winter. Fairways were good.
Good course for high handicaps
Flat wide open course. Hard pan if off first cut. greens are slow and bumpy.
Pace was good with one of last tee times in pm.
U out get what you pay for $22.00 is good value for this track.
Clubhouse and washrooms were closed by 5pm before we finished.
Had to drive to find a restaurant to use washroom.
A fun time
Sun City south was quite busy that day. I was paired with a congenial couple from Wisconsin and we all had a great time.The course was in decent condition and I felt I got good value. Pace of play was 4 hours.
I will book there again.
What hole are we on?
The course layout seemed to have all the par 4s look alike. Fairways needed help.
Frustrating greens
The greens needed a trim on some holes, needed some grass on others, some were okay. Enjoyed the course otherwise. Would return on the hopes that the greens had improved, but would more likely return to the north course.
Good course for young or old
The course was in great shape and play was at a good pace. I would recommend this course to all golfers!
6 somes and pace of play
Absolutely a disaster when it comes to scheduling tee times and amount of people in the groups. I cannot believe a course would send out 6 people as a group. Then send out 2 groups of 2 ladies seperately and not even as a four some. Will never come back here. I enjoyed the conditions the greens were in but the staff and pace of play was terrible
Sun City South
It was just 53 degrees but luckily no wind or rain. The course was in very good shape and the staff is the best. Fairly flat course with wide open fairways, a nice change from the target golf desert courses require. Will play again and would recommend others to play. With three different tee boxes for men 6,000 6,400 and 6,800 yards it can challenge almost every golfer.
Good value for the money. Challenging greens. Friendly staff. Good course layout.
Great course, great condition
I really thought this course is well maintained and will recommend it to my friends. The best greens I've played this.season.
