Sun City South Golf Course

Fairways and greens in good shape, generous fairways, not a great deal of trouble. Good for all skill levels.
Teed off as twosome at 1:22, played behind foursome and did front in 2 hrs. Somehow ended up behind 5 some who let us thru on 12 and we finished in total of 3 1/2 hrs. Staff very friendly. Only complaint was the number of "" in memoriums" on every hole. Felt like we were in a cemetery, this is older community so wondering how many will be added by this time next year. Does anyone else feel this way?

This was my first visit to Sun City south. Its not a long course and playing from the reds probably put me at a disadvantage as many fairway traps came into play, mostly because the fairways are rock hard. I soon learned its a bump and run course because hitting wedges off hardpan is not possible. The greens were excellent but fairways need water. I hit a 5 hybrid about 175, I hit one that ran over the green from 215. Staff were very friendly.

This course was in excellent shape and greens were like putting on carpet__very smooth with no bare spots__have played this course many times and will be back for more

The courts was in okay shape, however the staff was rude and unaccomadating. We were about a Hal an hour late off of the tee. The course didn't have enough golf carts so we had to walk. I will not be returning to this course.

I expected a course that had as much traffic as Sun City courses to be fairly worn out, but I was surprised to see large, forgiving fairways, that were obviously watered well. The greens rolled true, and the pace was tolerable. I had a less expensive 2:37 T time, and went with the expectation of not finishing. We had a 2 hr and 10 minute front 9, then the people in front of us dropped out and we finished in the daylight. Very friendly staff. Watch out for #10 green. A real surprise after the front 9.

The course is in good condition and is very forgiving. The fairways are green and the greens play well. If you are having beverages be aware that there are not many bathrooms and your surrounded by homes. Eat before you play your round, the food in the snack shop is subpar. The snack shop does serve cold beverages at a decent price and your going to want to stock up because there is no cart lady.

The course was in really good shape. Greens were in good condition, some easy, some challenging. Overall great experience. Will come back.

Played good and the conditions were good the people I was paired with were awesome

We enjoyed our first 9 holes of the year, BUT we had a 4pm tee time & there were NO CARTS AVAILABLE until 4pm! Very little time to get ready.
Eventually, we teed off at 4:15pm as we had to wait for 3 groups playing through from the back nine. We had fun once we got going.

This course was in GREAT condition with the greens also fast but fair!! I will definitely play it again!! I played from the red tees which made ALL of the fairway bunkers in play, so the Gold next time for me...:)

This was a very busy day. Went off on time. PLayed behind a walking 5-some and rarely waited (maybe 3 times) to hit. The course can play very long (4 sets of tees), but is straight forward--few trees, water in play on only 2 par-3s, not many trees, average number of bunkers, few doglegs. The greens were nice, relatively fast. 2 of the greens have too much slope (either make the putt or it ends up 10' below the cup). The course has an adequate driving range, good practice green and average chipping area. The clubhouse and snack bar are average.

I am sorry, but I cannot think of fifty words to write in review of this course.

Liked the course flat and opened but has well placed bunkers to make you stay sharp off the tees. Greens were fast and rolling great. Will be playing this course again soon.

Maybe a little slower than usual since it had rained early, which stacked things up a little. But overall, a good value for the money.

Good course for the money! Moderate challenge.

the fairways were designed to be wide enough to convert to plots in case the course was to ever close. So with dormant rough they are very generous. A mature course with big trees and palms. Fine sand bunkers and bunker guarded greens and fairways with strategic ( not oppressive ) placements. Fairways are firm enough to be considered hard with roll. Greens were probably close to 9 stimp meter and exceptionally contured making putting no easy task but again not oppressive. Par 3's have forced carry water. Carts were electric and smooth. 3hr 45min of afternoon play made this a fun 18 holes.

The staff was friendly. There was not a marshall on the course while we were playing so it might have helped to move things along. Some people don;t seem to know golf etiquette on the course and should have let us play through as they were slow and were not playing ready golf. We also had a couple who lost their balls off the 18th tee and went out looking for their balls and then came back to the tee to hit them again?? I have never seen that before. We enjoyed the course but were not impressed with some of the players on the course.
