Ken McDonald Golf Course
About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Greens
Course was in pretty good shape very busy some greens had some rough spots over all rolled
Very fast. Enjoyed the course 4.5 hours for 18
Great Value - Beat-up Greens
Ken McDonald is always a great value if you are lucky enough to get a tee time. It's a fun interesting layout. Only issue we had was with condition of the greens. Heavy use must take their toll because most of them were not in good shape. Fairways were very nice and bunkers were in good condition. Tee boxes were acceptable with the heavy play. Would still recommend the course to my friends.
Great course
This is a great course for the money, but winter time pace is very low, I have play the 18 holes in 3 hrs but we ntwr is 4:.5 hours
Average
First course after arriving for vacation. Played it previously and found it challenging. Was disappointed with most of the greens diseased, dead areas. However they were fast paced but bumpy. Fairways needed water especially on hills hitting off hard pan. I rebooked to play it again as I have a buddy arriving soon. Good starter course based on price and locality
K McDonald Tempe
Played the course several times during our month long stay in PHX. For public access golf Ken McDonald is a lot of fun on a very playable course. Played during WMO and Super Bowl week. Best pace of play and most affordable of the courses we’ve played while in the desert.
Ken McDonald
Great course to work on your game. Lay out is challenging and somewhat forgiving.
The clubhouse is run by Mike, and he is a first rate and accommodating.
In general, the entire staff is friendly. Beers are cold and cheap.
Fun for all ages. Randy K.
Pretty challenging
Tucked in residential area, signage could be more conspicuous to find, easy check in, carts good and have sand, water bucket for towels and water on course for us, tees good but still think they need to make red tees yellows and shorten reds , fairways pretty smooth, roughs barren at times, greens putt pretty fair but some fairly rough spots on them, bunkers actually have sand so you can get under the ball, played in just over 4 , windy so made for pretty good workout, player assistant actually out doing stuff, could get rid of the geese
A mixed bag
The price for golfing was very good but the pace of play was very slow. There were no gaps in the holes in from of our group. We took 2.5 hours for 9 holes and quit due to darkness.
First time and Kenny Mac
Went on line for reservation but it did not show up on starters tee off sheet. No big deal he handled it like a pro. Thanks Mark!
Very good course
Great course for the money. There are challenging holes that involve water and overall well designed.
Nice Track
First time playing the course. It was very windy but manageable. Fairways were in good shape. Front 9 greens had a few problems but the back nine were very nice. Lots of geese on a couple of holes like 17, made everyone a little nervous hitting our second shots as no one wanted to hurt them with a bad shot. A few of the sand traps could use a little more sand
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the day and will play again for sure.
Good Monday game at KMGC
Nice to be able to walk the course, and with a single who knew it well. Pace of play was excellent, and my family and I enjoyed the outing very much.
