Ken McDonald Golf Course
About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Overall a solid course
Played at Ken Mcdonald on Feb 2nd, 2023, had a great time. tee boxes were good shape, fairways solid condition, and greens also pretty good. Honestly one of the better public courses I've played at here for the money. Would play here again.
1st Time
Enjoyed this course and the layout. The conditions were good although a few greens were spotty but the ball rolled true. After a rude comment from a player behind us on #2 about keeping up, we were backed up 3 groups on #5 and 4 groups on #8 and he finally apologized. They need more carts because we didn’t get one until 5 mins after our tee time. Round took 4hr 45mins, slower than I expect to play. Also a guy in the group in front was fishing for balls on every hole with water, the worst was 5 mins on #15 as we stood on the fairway waiting to hit our second shots and his buddies were on the green. Where’s the Ranger?
Friendly staff good city course near power plant
Greens were in good shape on back nine that I played
Fairways were decent
Traps well kept
Would play again anytime
Golf carts
Sharing a golf cart with a complete stranger is just plain weird. If I'm a single player again, I'll either have my own cart or won't play the course.
McDonald golf
Nice wide fairways. Greens on front side were not in great condition. Backs side greens were in good condition. There was an hour frost delay and the starter seemed to get a little confused about times and pairings. Otherwise it a cool windy but enjoyable day. I would recommend others to play this course.
Fair price. Greens and fairways in good shape
The only problem we had was a couple group of FIVE people that really slowed everything down. Other than that it was nice saving some money. All in all we would still play this course again.
Needs work on greens
Course fun to play. Greens need attention. Several spots are brown without any grass. No carts available for our afternoon tee time. Mike in the club shop was super and provided great customer service.
Great value course but rude staff member
When we started our round, neither the clubhouse nor the starter told us that it was cart path only to start the day. We are on the first hole and the starter comes out and starts yelling at us to get off the fairway. We apologize and say we didn’t know and the starter continues to tell us telling us he told us. Even if he did, why would we do that on the first hole in plain site? This course is good value but most of the time, it seems like it’s an inconvenience to the staff that you chose to golf there that day. Again most of the staff is ok, but every time we come, the starter is always miserable.
Ken McDonald Golf
Course was fair with good fairways and fast greens.
Great course, great staff
Alfredo was willing to participate and worked to exceed our expectations
