Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Condition
I have been playing this course for years. Good value for the money, but greens and course need maintenance.
Dry-Dry-Dry
We’ve played this course for many years. This course used to be a lot of fun and was mostly in above average shape. Now the fairways are dry, the greens are below average, grass is spotty, many brown spots and if it’s windy, you need to mark your ball with a thumbtack. Many old cup’s haven’t grown in and they run low on (or out of) carts as the day goes on. At times you have to wait until a group finishes before you get your cart. Sand traps need sand. Carts are old. Just an overall old muni that needs water and maintenance.
Nice Place
City course but well maintained and very great staff
KM does not disappoint
I have placed this ‘muni’ in my rotation during visits to Tempe due to its value for the dollar. The staff does an excellent job with the over-seed and the fairways are like carpet. The greens are in great shape and the staff is super. Some of the bunkers could use a little more sand. You can pay a lot more elsewhere and get less course.

Nice layout, excellent fairways, only 1 green faster than the others.
I always enjoy the course for the price. Although I have the Loyalty card and they charged me the full price! Didn't notice until I got home.
Beat value
This was my first time golfing here. In my opinion this course is the best bang for your buck. The course is very nice and much cheaper than most around. I have 5 or more courses between me and Ken McDonald and I will pass them all next weekend to go back to Ken McDonald.
Love this course but $56 to walk a municipal course is too much.
