About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

It is what you’d expect
You get what pay for. Obviously this is not a great course that you’re going to want to play if you’re visiting and looking to experience some Arizona golf. But if you just want to play and not spend a ton of money, this place is fine. The fairways are OK. They are very hard so you’ll get a lot of roll. I hit some bad shots that went a long way! Greens are OK too. Most of the holes are pretty straight and boring, although there were 3-4 good ones. I would play it again, now that I know what I’m getting.
February play
Found a good price for afternoon play. Course needs water/rain. Good pace of play and we’re paired with two really good guys. Enjoyed our round.

First time playing this course and was great value for the money! The course was in great shape and was a very enjoyable time. Will certainly play this course again!!
Needs
First time pkaying here. Staff was great. Course isn’t in very good shape. Very dry. Had wedges in and grass so dry had a hard time getting the ball upwards. Hit in rough and you might as well search for a place to try to hit from. Understand it has been dry but needs water!!
Great afternoon at Kenny Mac ⛳️
Took my sister out for an afternoon golfing. The starter John was very personable 😊 Paired us up with brothers and enjoyed their company. My sister really enjoyed playing the course 🥰

Great course for the price. The course was in good condition considering how very dry the weather has been. The 17 tee box was in a confusing location.
Classic Layout but it was soaked
You can tell they are trying to recover from a poor overseed. The course is heavily saturated and lots of bare mud spots. I walked, so it was a bit tricky navigating to each shot on some holes with stagnant water. Greens were quick and fair, but a few of the greens had been grass/dirt mixture and bumpy.
Course needs more TLC especially for the increased cost golf nowadays in AZ. I love the central location and easy walkability. Still love playing here if the pace of play is smooth. Took us about 4.5 hours with only holdups on Par 3s.
Great Value
Nice practice areas. Modern carts. Great cart paths. Flat land with some interesting layout angles and water features. Plenty long. Receptive and smooth rolling greens. Very friendly staff. Excellent value for the money.
