Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

Lazy maintenance
Dry fairways, hard greens, overgrown traps. Resort greenfees. Disappointed. Won't play there again.
"Resort greenfees???" I paid $16 a couple weeks ago.
Great for what it is
This is the perfect course to just get some practice in. Quick 9 and very reasonably priced.

I’ve played here a few times and it’s always been good!
I would recommend too anyone to play here. It’s a great 9 hole course. Friendly staff, good carts and practice greens. They also let me do vlogs witch is awesome, not all courses do that. Thanks again Shalimar! See you again soon! Arizonaoutlawgolf on yt.

Needs Work
The pace of play was quite annoying. There was a group ahead of us with 5 people and a head of them were 2 people walking. Pile up on the 8th and 9th, so we left early. The course was not in the best shape and the greens needed some TLC. Would have been better if the the group in front did not take so long.

The Best 9 Hole Course on the Eastside
It’s not a perfect course and for the price you shouldn’t be expecting anything fancy…..yet it’s a nice challenging course, raised greens with some pitch but there’s a few nuances to the course and 1/3 of the fairways aren’t straight.
It’s a fun challenging course, cheap and usually easy to find a tee time so bring your buddy or family member who needs to dust off the clubs and play a fun course for 2 hours and enjoy a beer at a decent price

Course needs work
Weeds in the bunkers, trash on the course. Fairways and greens were well watered. Some areas on the fairways were too well watered causing standing water which smelled. Steps leading up to the 9th hole in desperate need of repair as they are a trip hazard. Good course for a beginner. Staff in the restaurant were fantastic. Beer was cold, food was ok, menu was standard fried fare.
Good descriptions all around. Sure, there are things that could be improved, but this course is a great value and a lot of fun. Staff is great!
