Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

Okay for the price
Okay layout, but the course is a bit rough; weedy fairways, not the greatest greens. But if you are just looking to get out and play 9 holes, it's okay for the price.

Good for 9 holes but very slow
I’ve played this course many times over the last 30 years. I’ve seen it in better conditions and in worse conditions. The fairways and greens were in reasonable shape. The pro shop was understaffed, and had to wait in line for 15 minutes because apparently the only employee working, was running in the pro shop and moving all the carts. I don’t know if this was because of staffing issues, but it did take a long time to check in and we didn’t have time to visit the driving range.
The pace of play was very slow because it was so packed which is unexpected for a Monday afternoon. At one point two groups stood on the Teebox while the group in front fished balls out of the lake with a ball retriever. The value was not worth this experience, but it seems to be Phoenix metro wide.

Fun for a quick morning round with friends. Nothing special but friendly staff and friendly golfers. Will go back again

Foot golf
A lot of waiting to take your next shot. Foot golfers do not pay attention to where they are at in relation to other golfers. Should not take 3.5 hrs to play 9 holes of golf.

Course is in poor shape, Ball washers aren’t functional,
Course is over priced. Rate was double what it was a couple of years ago.

I enjoyed playing. The normal price is way too high so I'm unlikely to play again soon. But the deal times are good for the money. I loved the short clean course so long as the pace stays on course.greens needed a lot of work but that can be overlooked based on the price.

Good little Executive course
Was here years ago. Hasn't changed much. It was close and good value so that is why we went. That and my kids are still learning and that is a great course for that function.

Shalimar
I know it rained heavily the night before, but the issue outside of some standing water was dirt, like the course has been neglected for some time. $40 for 9 holes (even with a cart) is WAY TOO high for this course.
