Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

Overpriced for a 9 hole
Charging 18 prices for 9 hole. Playing 18 at other places cart included is cheaper than walking a 9 here. Course shape is mediocre.

Rough conditions
The course was pretty wet and beat-up.
More dirt than grass.

Has improved over the years
When visiting family we play this course often. Although not in great condition, the greens and fairways have improved considerably in the past three years.
On thing I like about this course is that is is good for people just learning to golf since they can take the time to enjoy the game.

Nice little course
Well worth the cost. Nice 9 hole course with a fun layout. Price was right for a Saturday morning. Pace was good and people were very friendly.

No frills and laid back course
A great value course, no frills and very laid back, was very busy the 2 days we played and seemed a little over booked? But overall a good time would at it again next time we are in town. Staff was very nice and burgers were good.

Course too dry and ground hard.
The course was very dry and hard. Greens weren’t in good shape, it had some rough spots that made the ball bounce when hit to the hole.

Never will play again
I have played this course at least a doz time and now longer will play. Too many people goofing around on the course, either on carts or just have no urgency. Wasn’t able to play 9 holes due to no consideration of others. I Blu was able to play 6 holes in 2 1/2 hrs. Where is the marshal to get the games going.? No where to be found. I guess the lower prices you get the rift rats. Do not suggest playing here

Range balls were everywhere!
The course is packed into a small space so the holes are right on top of each other. We constantly had other players in our site so we had to wait to hit. And range balls were everywhere. I swear every hole had some making it difficult to locate our own balls. And there was a lot of trash. It was rude of the players to not throw their trash away when trash cans were made readily available. The price was right but we won’t be back.

Great course, Great value!
This was my first time playing this course and I expected a course that wasn't kept up this well because of the value of the price! I am highly impressed with almost all aspects of this course!

Where’s the grass.
Cow pastures are in better shape. Spend some money and plant some grass. Also raise the fence so nobody gets hurt
