Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

The course is in better than fair condition. The greens were cut a little short. It was better now then before. It is a fun course to play.

Be Glad it’s cheap or you would be Furious
Golf carts are not even kept out available & cleaned :/ Much of fairways are bare dirt poorly maintained in every way , greens are a mess , they don’t bother to keep range balls off the course and people that live in neighborhood are walking wherever oblivious to golf etiquette or potential safety risk . Zero money spent to maintain or improve course in anyway fir a long time , it’s too bad if someone cared could be a fun short course gem if invested in

Good atmosphere
A very laid back course, everyone was super friendly (including other golfers), beer cart came by twice in 9 holes, and just had an all around good time. Value for the price is spot on.

Served the purpose
Just wanted to get a quick 9 holes in before heading to baseball game...course not in the best shape, but no complaints...decent little neighborhood course to get a few swings in....
Break glass in case of desperation
Luckily the weather was perfect because there isn’t much to look fondly on about this course. I will give the cart person credit that we saw them twice in nine holes. Could recommend if it was $20 for nine, but the greens we’re as much dirt as grass.

Great place to play for a quick nine :-)
Enjoyed the friendliness of the regular women’s league members ! Left my driver head cover on hole 5. I was walking and didn’t want to hold up play. Was so kind of the woman I met while waiting on the 1st tee to drive up to me on hole 6 and hand it back to me ⛳️

Decent 9 hole city course
Greens good, fairways with bald patches in places cart paths in rough shape, flat course, 3 parr 3’s, 6 par 4’s. Price should be no more than $40.. Good electric carts …but walkable. Good pace of play. Good restaurant & bar.. Could be a very good little course. Just needs some TLC and soon!

59 yrs. Of golf.
I first played Shalimar in middle sixtys . I have played here several times throuh out my life time. When I was eleven l shot 43 on nine holes , I'm 70 now and shot 42 yesterday everytime I vist it brings back great memories. Even if my golf never got better in 59yrs.

Neighborhood Cource
It's always a pleasure to play a neighborhood course. The people seem to be more friendly. This course has a practice rance, putting green, an adequate pro-shop and restaurant with a covered patio. I enjoyed playing here and will definitely be back.

Older course, still great
Shalimar has been around for a long time. It's very casual with a lot of ASU students coming in to golf, locals, etc. The course has a few challenges, but is good for beginners. I've been playing there since high school, and while it is showing it's age, it's still a good day of golf.
