Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

Good for a quick 9
The course is a little beat up, but it's a fun short course and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Awful Course w/ Foot Golf at same time
Not sure where to start. They don’t have enough carts for everyone so you have to wait for people to finish their round and wait your turn like you’re waiting in a valet line. 20 min after our scheduled tee time asked the 15 year old our ETA and he said just go now… which to our surprise we were stuck behind 3 females and 1 male playing foot golf in front of us. Zig zagging across every fairway we were trying to tee of into. Short 9 hole course that should take 60 mins took almost 2.5 hours. Course was in bad shape overall but still can’t get over trying not to hit the 4 some on our fairways every single hole. Never again.

good for beginners
The pace of play is great for beginners! If you have a friend who never played golf before, this is a great place to to take him or her. I brought aleast 5 never played golfers here and they all had great time!
