Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

Relaxed Course
this course is great for those of us who are not trying to take ourselves to seriously. Fun little course with a lax vibe. The Staff is friendly and very accommodating. Perfect for and outing with buddies who do not golf religiously.

Easy course for beginners
Easy course for beginners with friendly staff and players. Course was a little dry and hard but we expected that coming from out of town. We've never golfed in AZ before so this was a great starter course.

Get what you pay for
Not bad for a cheap round of practice. Fairways have lots of areas of dirt and aren’t in great shape. Greens were in surprisingly good shape. A few holes with a bit of personality to them so for a cheap 9 hole round adds a bit of fun.

New to gold
I’m new to golfing and my bf took me here as a beginner course. I do t have other courses to compare it too. Except for a beginner it was fun. We didn’t wait long and the flow of playing went smooth. If you’re new to golfing and are scared you’ll take too long go to this course. It’s cheap and fun. I recommend for new golfers who want a nice fun 9 hole course.
