Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

Handy short course
If you want to practise your short game and don't mind a dusty dirt cart path, then this course is for you. The fairways were in fair condition and the greens were small which makes for a tough shot but also excellent for improving your aim. I live in Mesa so it is located nice and close and not near any noisy roads or airports so you can enjoy a quiet friendly game.
Basic 9 Holes
my son does not play golf so it was a good course to play with no pressure for him. Myself I would not play this course again. Too basic and conditions, well it is a course.

As in life, you tend to get what you pay for... This course might be appropriate for someone just starting to play golf. Friendly staff on the other hand.
Basic golf
Basic golf - Nothing special - I always enjoy playing this course - Greens are good, but small - Fairways and tee boxes need work - Good for walkers.
This course would be more appealing with a general clean-up of the flora. New flag sticks and tee markers would be inexpensive, an image improvement and very much appreciated.
Disappointed
Extremely Small greens that were slow due to long grass. Overall condition of course was disappointing. There are other courses for less only that are in better condition

For the price this golf course is fine. Variety of tee boxes make the course playable for most golfers
Complete Fiasco
Put a foursome of soccer golf players in the middle of golf groups made for a real cluster----.Will never play thre again!
As above, the course is as expected. This is a good course for beginners. There are a couple of nicely setup challenges, #5. Would play again.

Fall Pricing for Overseeding Conditions
Beautiful day to Golf. Course was very wet, but they did finally fix Hole 2. My main issue is with the Greens.
The 7th & 9th holes were fairway conditions, not Green conditions. Those conditions are okay, if you are still paying over seeding rates, but to pay the raised Fall rates is not good.
Needs water/ groundskeeper
Course continues to go downhill, not being watered or manicured properly! More dirt than grass, greens are in terrible shape, carts weren't charged, people being sent out in golf carts & walking around course trying to find Pokémon clues not golf ! Really
