Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

Nice course

HAd some friends in town and just wanted to play a quick 9 holes. Price was cheap and close to home. Greens and fairways looked good. Sandtraps basically no longer exist. This was liekly a really nice course several years ago.

Nice course

Course wasn't in the best shape but it was still nice, cheap and our rental clubs were brand new. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely play here again.

Hidden Gem

This course is not fancy, and needs some TLC, but for the price, it’s a great little 9 hole experience.

Worst golf course I have ever played

If you want to just go for a hit then here is fine. As for the course, in terrible condition, bunkers overgrown, greens super bumpy, dry mud everywhere. There was no one on the course so you can just play as many balls as you want.

Plan to get familiar with the game here

Only the third course I’ve ever played, and incredibly close to my home.

It’s very chill, never rushed. Everyone is really nice, no shenanigans or rudeness. Wish they had coffee or energy drinks (I rely on caffeine lol).

The driving range and putting green are good, functional.

The course is fun; it’s beauty won’t blow you away but it’s awesome for the price.

It’s got that neighborhood course magic, good vibes—it will never win awards for its views or amenities but it’s got everything you need if you love the game.

Great executive course!

Despite recent overseed, fairways were in good condition , and pace of play excellent. It’s fun to play at a walkable course that has many older trees and offers some shade. Will definitely plan to play at Shalimar again!

Nice short 9-holer

This is a mature short 9-hole course.

It is inexpensive. And it does not pamper you with all kind of amenities that are nice but not needed if all you want to do is just hit a few holes

For the price you pay absolutely perfect.

And yes, it could use a bit more water on the grass. But this is Arizona. Water is not abundant.

Good place to practice for less

9 hole course. The greens a slow but the fairways aren’t bad. It’s a good place to take your wife or partner that doesn’t play that often

Sunny day for golf

Overall, the course is decent, but considering the shape of it and how a lot of things are run down, the price should be more fair than it is.
