River Hills Golf & Country Club

About
River Hills Golf and Country Club is in Little River, near North Myrtle Beach, a Tom Jackson product that shows heavily-wooded, rolling terrain with elevation changes as much as 40 feet. Golfers won't encounter parallel fairways, but they will encounter fairways that weave through a series of homes, along with dogwood, maple, live oak, pine and cypress tees. They will also see quite a bit of water, though most of it is lateral.

Love this course.
Every hole sets up a little differently. Greens were being aerated so a little bumpy but not too bad. Great value. Staff are very helpful and the pro shop is well stocked.
One of my favourites
This is a very friendly course to play, if you keep your ball out of the water. If I had to play only one course in the area it would be River Hills. Every hole is a little different and presents a different challenge. Worth the money for sure.
Rough Greens
Layout of the course is good. Course has a lot of potential. My biggest complaint is the greens were punched and Golf Now nor River Hills made mention of it. Greens were covered in sand. If you’re even a decent golfer, the greens are all you really care about.
Great conditions
We played this course while on vacation in Myrtle Beach. The course is located in a nice neighborhood and has many doglegs. I wasn’t a fan of several of the holes as some of the par 4’s and 5’s require you to hit an iron if you a longer hitter. Not so bad on par 4’s but I generally like to hit driver on par 5’s. However, it was challenging and provided some different looks and shot shaping. The greens were rolling great and the course was green and in great condition. The starter and staff were very friendly.
This is a course I had never heard of despite coming to MB for my entire life. Definitely one that I would recommend to a friend.
2nd Time
Played twice now in the last 4 weeks, greens are rolling very weak, may have caught a day when they needed to be cut. Just a little slower than the first time. Definitely worth playing
Good but…
Been playing RH for over 25 years now. Course is still fun to play, challenging to say the least, but maintenance has fallen off. I.e., cart paths are terrible. Tree roots and run off make for a real bumpy ride.
Nice layout
Played from Magenta tees 6400 yds. Very nice course in good condition. Presents a lot of different shots and requires thought in how to approach each hole. Lots of OB, some close to fairways & greens, as much of the course winds through residential areas. As a first time player there were a few surprises that aren't obvious on the scorecard or hole sketches. Overall a fun & challenging course.
River Hills golf
Outstanding from start to finish. Staff, super friendly and informative. Course is tight but very playable. Lots of water on the back 9.
Great day at River Hills
Played River Hills with my wife. The course was in excellent shape and the staff was super friendly. They paired us with a twosome’s but gave us the option of playing alone. Pace of play was excellent and we had a delightful time.
This is a awesome course!
I love the layout & the degree of difficulty. I will definitely play this course again.
Fantastic golf course!
This place is amazing. Greens rolled well, fairways were tight and tee decks were flat. My wife had great time playing forward tees! Can't wait to come back!
Just rude people
Our pace of plays was more dictated by the two we played with (never me them before) and each time they put a ball in the water they ball hogged. That being said, the Marshalls were rude as well as the landscapers. Can someone explain why they’re still cutting at mid day. Furthermore the food for lunch was way less than average.
