West at Eagle Valley Golf Course
About
The West Course at Eagle Valley Golf Course winds through the Carson City foothills at the base of the Eastern Sierra. The links-style layout features an interesting variety of holes that provide a formidable test for even the most advanced players. The fairways are lined with native desert vegetation that grows tall enough to provide some challenge and several water hazards are strategically placed throughout. The dramatic elevation changes in the rolling landscape also require forced carries. Accuracy is vital to doing well on the golf course, offering a true risk-and-reward experience. For golfers wanting a more relaxed round, Eagle Valley offers the less daunting East Course.

Great little track
Fun course, challenging enough. Greens were in excellent condition.
Fun course
Great layout, greens nice, fairways a little choppy. Staff very friendly.
Fun Day
Enjoyed the round. Course conditions, particularly the greens, were very good. Only slight drawback was the slow foursome in front of us. Clearly beginners who had no awareness of the three groups they were holding up. Sadly, a very common occurrence in these times of "me and only me" attitudes. Since there is no return to the clubhouse between nines, it world be nice to see a marshal keeping tabs on groups like this one.
Hope these observations help improve an already nice play to play.
Good track
Pace of play was slow but course conditions were nice. Good to see that the bunkers are in better shape and new asphalt on cart paths. Major stench from one of the ponds near 18. It definitely needs some attention.
Good mix
Loved shooting over the canyons from the tee boxes. Finding balls in brush was easier than expected……, not that I hit any there.
Had seen this course, but never played it. Challenging layout with different hole layouts, scenery was a plus. Would definitely play here next time in area.
Tougher side
If you want to be challenged play the west course. Most of the course is straightforward but there are some really tricky holes. Try to ask someone that knows the course because there are some blind shots and if you don’t know the course you will hit out of bounds Overall it is a fun course.
Stay out of the Traps!
I played the course 2 weeks ago. It was much windier this week, but still great fun. 2 things: 1) the traps, except I think on 17, have no sand in them. They're full of gravel and are mostly rock hard. 2) whatever they are mowing the green with, it is leaving lines that can effect your putts.
Other than that, a fun, challenging course.
NO MORE FIVESOMES!
WE HAD THREE FIVESOMES IN FRONT OF US FOR THE ENTIRE ROUND. TOOK FIVE HOURS TO PLAY! IT'S SIMPLE: DISALLOW FIVESOMES. PUT UP A SIGN IN THE PRO-SHOP AND ON THE STARTER PODIUM. REAL MEN DON'T PLAY IN FIVESOMES!!!
Great golf at a great price.
Course was in good condition. Soggy in some areas but not in the fairways. Challenging holes make it interesting. Greens still 'lined' due to mowing but ran fairly true. I'll become a regular.
