West at Eagle Valley Golf Course
About
The West Course at Eagle Valley Golf Course winds through the Carson City foothills at the base of the Eastern Sierra. The links-style layout features an interesting variety of holes that provide a formidable test for even the most advanced players. The fairways are lined with native desert vegetation that grows tall enough to provide some challenge and several water hazards are strategically placed throughout. The dramatic elevation changes in the rolling landscape also require forced carries. Accuracy is vital to doing well on the golf course, offering a true risk-and-reward experience. For golfers wanting a more relaxed round, Eagle Valley offers the less daunting East Course.

Course itself was in good shape for this early in the season, however several "sand" traps were doing some construction work(drains) and were unplayable-hopefully when drains are finished they will put "actual" sand in them
Torn up
This course was always the better of the two. Not so anymore. We were not told about the courses condition and that the bunkers were being worked on all over the course. Mowing the tee boxes while hitting, on the greens while approaching. Cart paths in bad repair. It just was not worth the 40 bucks. I know that doesn't sound like much but it was not nice to play. Also pace of play was terrible. One point there was 5 groups on the same hole. Just not acceptable. Every 8 minutes are the tee times, that's 7 groups per hour. These are old people that players and 4 or 5 groups per hour is better. 12 minutes apart is more appropriate.
getting better
We saw that the course was being worked on, so we thought that in a few weeks that the conditions would be really nice. Nice new carts, we'll see ya soon.
Allowing 7 “somes and 8 somes?”
Leave it to Duncan Golf to pile in the players. The course is not a bad layout but Duncan Golf as always leaves the bunkers (which are a hazard) in dirt and rock condition (please play any other golf course outside of Western Nevada and you will learn about real bunkers). Duncan Golf just crams in players and does not care if your round takes five and a half hours. After the 4th hole we realized we were playing behind a 7 some, so we called the pro shop and the Marshall came out, but was he was completely unsuccessful in breaking up the 7 some. We just so happened to get behind of drunks( a 4 ball after the 7 some) that could not find their balls so they would drive back 100 yards and hit our golf balls. Rather then recapping the worst round of golf my wife have ever had, I’ll just say this, Duncan Golf is responsible for providing the worst golf experience we have ever had and they do not promote or educate (at all) the game of golf or golf etiquette. Disgusting. Carson City will be hearing from us and we hope they will find another avenue to manage these courses. Thanks for offering the free rounds but I will never step foot on the Eagle Vally courses again unless it’s a defined NNGA event.
Golf
Nice day for golf. Pace of play was very slow. Course was in great shape, staff was awesome as usual. Maybe start people a little more than 9 minute intervals.
Eagle Valley West
Great course with unique challenges associated with the natural landscape
Wrong course
Although we had tee times for EV West, they moved us to EV East because they had a tourney. They did offer free play, but it wasn’t the course we signed up for.
new carts!
We received a new golf cart which was nice~the golf ball marks on the green were fixed, thanks~the sand traps were nice and soft, thanks! So your new golf carts don't get damaged, you need to fix a few big holes on the carts paths. For example, just before the the last par 3 where one has to cross two bridges, there are 3 holes just before the first bridge that are bad. I know you want to wait until it gets a little warmer to do this, so how bout just filling it in with mud then putting gravel on top of it for now. Thank You!
course conditions getting better
I was really glad to see the ball marks in the greens fixed. Sand-traps looked better/softer. I know it's still winter but I'm really happy you made those improvements. Can't wait until it warms up some.
Staff
If you want to play here, don't use golf now. You will pay, then when you get there, even with showing them the reciept, you will have to fight with them to not have to pay a second time. They literally told me to never use golfnow for their course again.

Staff was excellent~I know it's wintertime still, but I think the greens need to be attended to. There is a lot of ball marks on them, I know that there is too many to fix, but the medium and larger ones should be fixed/filled in. We will be back soon, we like playing here, thanks for asking!
