West at Eagle Valley Golf Course
About
The West Course at Eagle Valley Golf Course winds through the Carson City foothills at the base of the Eastern Sierra. The links-style layout features an interesting variety of holes that provide a formidable test for even the most advanced players. The fairways are lined with native desert vegetation that grows tall enough to provide some challenge and several water hazards are strategically placed throughout. The dramatic elevation changes in the rolling landscape also require forced carries. Accuracy is vital to doing well on the golf course, offering a true risk-and-reward experience. For golfers wanting a more relaxed round, Eagle Valley offers the less daunting East Course.

Satisfied
This course has always been in very good condition. Considering the temperature, it’s even in better shape than wolf run hahaha the green holds :-)
In great shape for November
The greens rolled smooth for winter golf and the fairway turf didn't have thin spots. Pace of play was good, in part due to less golfers on the course due to weather conditions.
Best Fall golf in the area!
First time on the west course this season! Fairways, greens, and even bunkers were in really nice shape! It looks like they’ve been paying attention to reviews because they went through and sifted a lot of the bunkers to get rid of heavier, thicker rocks. My only gripe would be pace of play. They handled the hour frost delay with ease, but then let three groups of 5 out almost back to back so that caused some delays. I love Eagle Valley for the casual, low-cost, quality golf. However, some days the “men’s club” gets out there and hates to see the young whippersnappers playing good golf. I’ve asked to play through and you could cut the tension with a knife! Haha!
Overall, great course, people, all of it! My go-to course this season!
Greens v Sand traps
The greens are the best in the Reno / Carson City area. The sand traps are among the worst. Layout of the West course very
good. Noise from Gun Range and municipal airport nearby a bit annoying. But, all and all, a good day out.
Beautiful course
Beautiful course with good elevation changes. Spectacular to golf during the fall color explosion!
Under staffed
One person in the pro shop, one person in the restaurant/bar, and nobody available to fix the range ball dispenser (which should have taken an app or credit card, but neither worked). Did not see one Marshall all day, and the group of 4 in front of us really needed a cattle prod. We (just me and my wife) caught up with them after the third hole. Waited to tee off and approach the green on each of the holes through the 9th. They continued to the tenth as we hit the restaurant for some grab-n-go food and drink refills. The poor lady behind the bar was fully rattled trying to keep up with demand (servicing two courses and the "Lady's Group" luncheon), so it took us over ten minutes to get back to the 10th tee. The single who had been catching up to us was still waiting on the foursome to clear the fairway when we arrived. The 4 let the single play through on the next par 3, and we were already on their heals immediately. Waiting to tee off. Waiting to hit our fairway shots. Waiting to approach the green. Each shot would have three of them get out of their carts to watch one select a club (frequently changing his mind after two practice swings) and hit the ball. Repeat. Repeat! Repeat!!! God forbid one of them had trouble finding their ball, all four would be out looking for it for an insane amount of time. Nothing, and I mean nothing will take you our of your golf rhythm like waiting five to 10 minutes between swings.
Need a course map
Score card needs a course map for infrequent players. Course needs yardage markers in place. Course rules not followed by other players. Is it really a 90 degree rule on all holes? Not from the tire marks on course. Greens and fairways in fairly good shape. Again found pro shop staff to be judgmental of Golf Now booking. Generally unhelpful, when asked to be moved up, course was not busy, absolutely not was the reply, this was a hot deal.
