About
Empire Ranch Golf Course, situated in the picturesque Carson Valley, features 27 holes of golf that overlook the Carson River. Located just minutes from downtown Carson City, Empire Ranch's three individual nines offer three different 18-hole combinations that have a convenient location but still provide a challenging golf getaway. The Comstock/River layout features lakes and wetlands coming into play throughout. The fairways are also well guarded by strategically placed bunkers. It provides a fair test, but the golf course is forgiving enough for beginning and intermediate players. In addition to the three courses, Empire Ranch also offers extensive practice facilities and a staff of PGA Professionals who can provide golf instruction.

18 holes and a cart for 20 bucks is great for us beginners
A lot of the greens were marginal, and there was a stink on the back 9, probably the swamp :-{
It's good to have a course to play that's inexpensive for golfers that aren't very good.
I guess what I', trying to say is thanks for being there!

Good course for the price.
Good course for the price, some time people are a little pushy, not the staff but the players. That can't be helped. Over all a good place to go.

I like the ambiance
The course Is not in good shape could be it’s early n the season.. The greens are terrible, old holes patching is not even with the surrounding grounds
I still had a good time with my friend.
The price is right and I will be back.
If you’re a golf purist, don’t go. If you are out to have a good time and the condition of the course doesn’t matter. Go for it.

Golfing
Greens were pretty bad, but still a nice day for golf.

Great Deal
For the money I played this course via TeeOff / Golf Now Annual Pass, this was a great deal.
The course still needs some TLC but is otherwise in good shape and a great deal for the online discounted deals.

Discount rate/ 18 holes/ cart
Greens dry and sanded, carts were good, plenty of bathrooms on course, , no water coolers on course, no score cards/ map in cart
We’re played 9 holes and stopped at club house at 230 pm and grill was closed. Lady there said we could get chix tenders and onion rings- those were great. Thank you man

Windy day to golf
its a nice course but just needed attention. The Course has its challenges, my husband and I played fairly well. The place is obviously popular with the locals and very family oriented, dogs are welcome. It was a windy and cold day but we enjoyed the game. Once the place receives the needed care and maintenance the course will be good as new. Thank you.

Good course for beginners
Large open course. The only downfall is of course the wind. Unfortunately this is going to be in any Carson Valley.

Good course
Enjoyed the course and considering the weather lately, it’s in good shape. Every course has their problem areas this time of year, but they’re working on it. It’s much better than last year.

Empire Ranch
Course was flooded out a few years ago and hasn’t recovered yet. But considering it is still winter golf, it was in fair shaped.

Winter time
Will play again later in season. Decent layout but winter time brown and greens are a bit slow and rough currently. Course says they will be cutting greens soon.

The course was in great shape for winter play. A few winter hazards but great golfing here!
