Sunridge Golf Club
About
Located justhalf-hour drive from both Lake Tahoe and Reno, Sunridge Golf Club features monster holes and mammoth lakes. The 669-yards par 5 11th - the longest hole in the scenic High Sierras region and then some - draws your attention as soon as you look at the scorecard. But the 26 acres of water on the golf course will probably provide more challenge and thrills.
There's also a hole with a 300-foot drop from the tee to the fairway (No. 14), a tiny par 3 19th bet-decider hole and a ton of driveable par 4s that almost beg for you to go for it. As a bonus, Sunridge Golf Club's green fees wow many vacationers used to Tahoe pricing.

Had a great day the course is in great condition staff is always professional and courteous brought a friend that had never played there she loved it will always go back and play at Sunridge
There are a lot of really unique holes on this course. A lot of water too. Sometimes you just have to lay up
enjoyed my day
Course was challenging but in good shape pace of play was good staff was very helpful for my first time there .I will play it again and recommend it to my friends
Great Experience
Took my grandson who was visiting from Florida. He had never seen a course with so many elevation changes. Course was in excellent condition and a good value for the money.
Good pace of play, especially for a Saturday.
Tuff course
I thought it was a tuff course layout for the first time playing there. Lots of blind shots off the tee. Lots of elevation changes on this course, some you can’t even see the fairway from the back tees. Overall a decent course for the money. Expect to lose a few balls if it’s your first time here.
Beautiful views with deferred maintenance
While visiting Reno over.a weekend, I wanted to try a few of the local courses so I tried Sunridge in Carson City. When you drive up the the “clubhouse” it is apparent that the course was not well funded. I tried to not let that bother me as the surround views looked nice. I paired my $30 fee jumped into my cart and headed toward the 1st tee.
I noticed the cart attached ball washer was empty, the plastic display sign at the top of the windshield was cracked and brown (almost fell off), and the cart could have used a bath. As I drove from hole to hole, I noticed the same deferred maintenance at the tee boxes, cart paths, and rough. Perhaps the course manger should assign maintenance staff to trip the weeks along the cart path, maintain the tee boxes, and mow the rough? Also, the “sand traps” didn’t it appear to have much sand, but plenty of small gravel. And the traps I checked had not been maintained in awhile. Hummmm...
Otherwise, looking at the broader view of the course, it was nice. As you can see from the pics, there are some wide fairways, nice greens, and cool elevation changes. NOTE: high handicap golfer need to bring extra balls.
So ,would I return? Probably if the deferred maintenance was addressed.

To bad a twosome held up the course!
Nice course fun to play this time the greens were smooth but slow. Had the twosome let us through it would have been a nice day. Giving his lady lessons on the course made for everyone behind to wait! No Marshall!
Beautiful views! Hey
Beautiful views of Carson Valley and the snow capped Sierra. Lots of elevation changes make this course very interesting. Super value!!&
Fun course that shows great variety and challenge
Love this course. One of my favorites in the area. Challenging but not over the top. Higher handicaps expect to lose quite a few balls.
Sunridge is the best $30-$70 course in the region.
Sunridge is not a long course unless you are 2 hdcp, in which case you should be playing the tips, which yes, look insane.
Otherwise, you'll find an addictive target course. You don't need to drive 250 to play here. If you are capable of a reliably straight 200 off the std men's tee (white), and 180ish off the women's, this course plays soo well. Just keep this mantra in mind: "don't get greedy" and you can smoke this reachable target course. The tenth for instance, is a 165yrd shot to an 80-100ish yard shot. But i see this hole demolish people because they get greedy off the tee for no reason...it's a circus shot to go for the green in one here. Club up, swing easy, and hit towards your bailout zones, rather than the stick.
LotsOfSurprises
We discovered the course on GolfNow and picked it. While driving in, we thought the course might be completely in the visible flatland that we could see,. Little did we know that over 1/2 the holes played out on the hill between the road and the flat area. There were many blind shots on the course but the course book provided helped out a lot. Considering the recent weather the course was in pretty good shape. The greens had different speeds, depending on how “fuzzy” they were. The only other suggestion we have would be a little more signage between holes, especially those when the cart path had a “T-intersection” with a 50-50 chance of picking the right way. Overall we had a fun round that was under 4 hours Thanks.
Looking good!!
Greens are beautiful, fairways ate rounding into shape, , pace of play was 3 1/2 hours for my twosome....it's one of my favorite places to play, I just wish it was closer, then I'd buy a membership....
Thank you so much Sunridge...
This is a fine course for a 20 year old 2 handicap. Unreasonable for anyone else
Sunridge
Love this course but today disappointed because it was really hot there was no water on the course and none of the soda machines worked. And no cart person serving drinks.
course condition
for the time of year the greens were in very good condition. Had a great time. played 27 that day
