Sunridge Golf Club
About
Located justhalf-hour drive from both Lake Tahoe and Reno, Sunridge Golf Club features monster holes and mammoth lakes. The 669-yards par 5 11th - the longest hole in the scenic High Sierras region and then some - draws your attention as soon as you look at the scorecard. But the 26 acres of water on the golf course will probably provide more challenge and thrills.
There's also a hole with a 300-foot drop from the tee to the fairway (No. 14), a tiny par 3 19th bet-decider hole and a ton of driveable par 4s that almost beg for you to go for it. As a bonus, Sunridge Golf Club's green fees wow many vacationers used to Tahoe pricing.

Beautiful views and challenging
I am a western Nevada resident. Sunridge is my favorite course in the Carson City area. It offers beautiful scenery and holes are challenging. Par 3's are especially intriguing. Great fun'
challenging
Loved having the opportunity to golf more often since Golf Now offers such great discounts
Hidden Gem!!!!
Love this course!!!!!Challenging and super fun!!!!!!!
SunridgeGC
Good overall layout, but Hole 14 (par 4) is under maintenance (as was not stated anywhere). However, they used a nice par 3 to finish off the round.
Never again
The course was over -watered. The 14th hole was closed(no indication of that on the website), the greens were very fast but covered with some strange fungus and small dirt balls. Many of the bunkers were overgrown with weeds and grass or full of water. All things considered, it was not a particularly good outing.
fun and different
Much better than expected. Nice greens, very well watered. Totally challenging. Must play again soon. Attendant needs to inform players of the 14th being closed, and the 19th as a sub.
Beautiful and challenging course
First time playing this course with zero course knowledge. The guide/manual was very helpful but still had a few blind shots. The fairways were in excellent condition and the greens were nice, slightly pocked, fast and true. I read many reviews before I played here so I was aware of the closure of hole #14. They added a short par 3 after the 18th hole to accommodate this. Plenty of water hazards and sand to keep you honest. This is a very nice course that's reasonably priced. Don't hesitate to go out and play here.
This course is challenging.
The course set up is challenging. This was my first time playing here. I found the course guide, which is free, very helpful. If you follow where the guide says to hit your ball, you'll do just fine. The greens were in good condition. There are is a par 3, where the green is way below the tee box, that you have to hit almost perfect or else the ball will roll off the green. There are a lot of water hazards and fairway bunkers, so be careful. I enjoyed the course and for the price to play is very affordable.
should be upfront that it 14th hole has been closed for a couple of years
very disappointed in the condition of the course. 14th hole was washed almost two years ago and my playing partner who is a regular on the course says ownership has done nothing to repair it. Many bunkers (>10) were ground under repair, and the bunkers that were not under repair were generally filled with gravel and little sand. Some were filled with gravel with large sized rocks. Greens were in good condition but one of the greens is donut shape that surrounds fringe, I was told the fringe is due to severe slope that causes almost all shots on or just over the green to roll back toward the front into a large revene. The fringe helps slow the ball slightly but its strange seeing a donut shape green. Seems there should be a better way to fix the problem of the green
Needs help
To start with it was never stated that hole 14 was permanently closed due to construction. In pro shop the kid who took my money was very unfriendly. The rest of the staff was standing right in front of the clubhouse ( aka double wide trailer ) smoking cigarettes. They also failed to mention they have a Sunday men's club that slower pace to a crawl.
Great Views
It has been 7 years since playing this course and I was thrilled with its condition. I had forgotten about all of the water and elevation changes which made for spectacular views. I was late for my tee time but the staff was super kind and get me out as soon as I got there. Overall, excellent experience - super staff and solid course.
Nice lil Gem!
Was impressed by this course for the price! Challenging however , get course map for detailed info about hazards. Lost 6 or 7 in water easily.
good time
enjoyable and challenging. 14th hole closed due to what seemed to be a flood at some point in time. Try it you'll like it.
Bang for your buck
This course is does need a little polishing but for the price you can't beat it and I will be returning to golf again!
Amazing course
Very challenging course. With great views and many chalanges. The perfect course for a vacation round.
Great Play for the $$
Front 9 is very well thought out to promote pace of play - back nine not so much.
Weather issues have closed #14 and it doesn't look like it will be reopened anytime soon. A par 3 19th hole has been added though.
There are some really great views and lots of wildlife.
While they advertise a bar and grill, it really isn't much. It looks like a full bar is available but the food selection is lacking. Choices for food are hot dogs or turkey sandwiches.
Great little course
Had an 11am tee time ....started a little early, had a great time until the weather TRW's moved in around 1pm, but waited it out and was able to finish. Fun course, good challenging holes and was in good condition. Staff great and enjoyed the afternoon wait to finish.
Bargain for the money!
Great course with good challenge holes. Great condition of the greens and fairways. You would not want to walk this course because of the elevation changes unless you want to get in a good leg workout. This was a bargain for the price and it wasn't crowded at all. Take a drive over the hill from south lake and enjoy a great little course.
